The Nova Scotia Cattle Producers issue a monthly update to all members, occurring on the last Friday of each month. This is comprised of industry news and updates, upcoming events, upcoming sales and relevant articles.

FCC Re-opens Sustainability Incentive Program

By working with the Canadian Roundtable for Sustainable Beef (CRSB) and its certification bodies (Verified Beef Production Plus, Ontario Corn Fed Beef Quality Assurance Program and Where Food Comes From Inc.), FCC created an incentive program open to eligible customers who are certified through CRSB.

Transportation Manifests

As a reminder, the NSCP Livestock Transportation Manifest can be printed from our website, or books of 50 triplicate copies can be picked up from our office for a fee of $10.00.

Canadian Cattle Young Leaders names it's 2023 semi-finalists

The Canadian Cattle Association’s (CCA) Canadian Cattle Young Leaders (CYL) Program is pleased to announce its semi-finalists for the upcoming 2023-2024 program year.


Since established by CCA in 2010, the Canadian CYL Program welcomes young people ages 18-35 from across Canada involved in all areas of the beef supply chain to build the next generation of industry leaders by providing unique mentorship, training, and professional and personal development opportunities. Canada Beef Partners with Nova Scotia Cattle Producers to Beef up the Gateway


Consumers can access this information through the About Beef. Canada Beef President Michael Young said that “we’ve worked to ensure all the provincial beef producer associations across the country have the opportunity to participate in the Gateway. These new pages provide a prominent place to share information with consumers about beef farmers and ranchers, the attributes of beef, information about the farm-to-plate story and the significant economic contribution provided by our cattle industry.”

Canadian Beef Industry Conference 2023

Registration is now open for the Beef Industry Conference. This year in Calgary there will be keynote speakers such as Brian Burke, NHL Leader, Community Activist and Philanthropist and Diana Rodgers of Global Food Justice Alliance and breakout sessions focusing on sustainability, marketing and biosecurity.

Environmental Stewardship and Climate Change Program

The Environmental Stewardship and Climate Change Program supports the Agricultural sector in reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and adapting to the impacts of climate change. Limestone Trucking Assistance Program

The Limestone trucking assistance program aims to help Nova Scotia farms defray the cost of trucking limestone to give equal opportunity in neutralizing the acidity of the soil on agricultural land and improve production efficiencies. Click HERE for more information.
