Work has begun for a new IYM 'church plant' in the Muncie/ Yorktown area. Starting July 1, Shane and Adel Brown (Shane previously pastored at Bethel Friends and Westfield Friends), officially began work on planting a new church. They are currently spending their time meeting with people in the area, building a launch team,

and beginning to look at how to raise funds for the operational aspects of this new work. Shane would love to be invited to your church to talk about this work, how God has already been at work in the area, and how you may be able to offer prayer and/or financial support.

The Youth Africa Team from IYM is preparing for God to move in incredible ways as they get closer to the time they will head to Kenya on July 27. Eight students and three adult chaperones will join IYM Missions Director, Eric Dale on this team. Please pray for them as some of the team members still need to get their passports, as they apply for visas, and for the team to bond well as they continue to meet weekly up until they leave.

On July 11, the FUM’s Turkana Friends Mission, located in the Turkana region of northern Kenya, will celebrate 50 years of ministry. Eden Grace, who recently passed away, was “instrumental in starting the Girl Child Education program, supporting the training of pastors, assisting in the development of the board, and raising funds for the mission.” (taken from the most recent FUM E-Newsletter). In 2023, Evangelical Friends Mission celebrates 60 years of world-wide mission work. To commemorate this anniversary, EFM is raising funds to equip the ten new missionary families of the Luke 10 Initiative to be on the field. Click HERE for a summer update from EFM.

Over 60 pastors and family members are in attendance at Pastor Short Course this week at Quaker Haven. While they are there, they are being led in musical worship by Mike Haemmerle (Hinkle Creek Friends) with many different leaders and teachers bringing presentations to inspire and equip the pastors and their families. Please pray for these special people who work so hard to usher the presence of the Living Christ into our worship gatherings around IYM.

Greetings dear Friends from Kaleo Academy at Barclay College. It is a joy and privilege to get to be here with incredible young folks from around the world. As I consider these children and our young Friends at Quaker Haven this week for Sr. High Camp, the reality of what was accomplished by the 'Valiant 60' thunders through my mind and heart. Our young folks will lead in finding Jesus Christ, in living simply, and in loving purely. Let's follow them with joy, and let's care for them with all our hearts. Damon, Clerk of the committee.

A Message from our Superintendent

Good Morning,

I had the privilege of being a part of the worship team for Senior High 2 camp at Quaker

Haven last week. It was a wonderful week, with many young people expressing new and refreshed faith in Jesus! Praise God!

The speaker for the week was a man named Clarence Hogan. In Clarence’s last message to the camp, he shared something that will stay with me to this effect: "What we have experienced here at camp this week is a significant moment. But God does not want us to live in a moment. He wants us to be a part of a movement. Do not miss out on the movement because you are stuck in the moment.”

How often are we guilty of this in our churches? We get stuck in a moment of what we remember. We think so highly about the ‘good ole days’ that we lose sight of where we are and where we are heading. We can miss out on the movement by being stuck in the moment in our churches.

Consider Jesus’ words in Revelation 21:5 in light of these thoughts:

He who was seated on the throne said, “I am making everything new!” Then he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.” Revelation 21:5.
