Introducing PML's Seed Library!

We've put out a selection of locally-sourced (mostly native) seeds, available for cardholders to take and plant. No checkout required. No need to return anything*. It's a pretty simple concept that we hope our community will enjoy and use.

*We do ask that you share the bounty of your harvest with people that you love. Spread joy! Plant seeds!

Headsup: Our DVD collection is changing just a bit

We've split our DVD collection into two sections: Series and Movies. We hope this makes browing for DVDs easier for you. You'll find each section on either side of the windows at the back of the library.

Community Irish jam session follows our next concert

Shannon Heaton (Irish flute) will be with us on Saturday, May 18 at 10 a.m. for a PML Concert Series Concert (see details under "Adult Events" below). Following the concert at 11 a.m., Shannon will lead a community Irish session at a nice, moderate pace with standard jigs and reels. Bring your flutes and fiddles, and play along with the tunes you know ... and hang out to the chat in between sets. Spread the word to all of your musician friends.

Diversity, Visibility and Progress

Thursday, May 30 at 6:30 p.m.

In-person at PML

No registration required.

For Adults and Teens

Christine Caulfield (MaineTransNet) critically examines the largely invisible contributions of LGBTQIA+ people in history. Who are some of these important contributors? What is the science behind the very human elements of pride and prejudice? Why should we consider human advancement when we reconsider long-held biases?

This short presentation will be followed by discussion. Teens and adults are welcome.

Christine Caulfield is a volunteer for MaineTransNet, a retired public high school teacher, and a past nominee for Maine Teacher of the Year. Her testimony was key in the passing of the name change bill by the Maine State Legislature, which protects people who change their names from harassment, discrimination, and violence. She is a parent of two adult daughters, and a very proud grandparent of four.

MaineTransNet is a statewide non-profit that supports transgender people in many capacities.
