Foundation Honors Partners in Education

As part of its annual fundraising gala, the Ray-Pec Public School Foundation honored Partners in Education for 2025.The Taste of Ray-Pec event took place on April 5 and featured a disco theme.

Each year, the Foundation Board selects individuals, organizations or businesses that have distinguished themselves in service to the school district, the Foundation or the community at large. This year, the honorees included Jamie Bogner and the Raymore-Peculiar Sunrise Optimist Club.

Jamie Bogner

Jamie has been committed to the betterment of the Ray-Pec community through service and volunteerism for more than 20 years.

She worked as a Registered Nurse in the district for more than 20 years. She was the nurse at Raymore Elementary, Stonegate Elementary, Raymore-Peculiar Middle School, Raymore-Peculiar High School and Timber Creek Elementary. She was named Ray-Pec Support Staff Employee of the Year in 2013.

Beyond Jamie’s work as a school nurse, she volunteered in many capacities across the district. She volunteered at her daughters' schools, served as a PTA President and Vice President, and was a board member for the Raymore-Peculiar Public School Foundation.

She helped make the annual Ray-Pec fundraising gala a success for many years.

Jamie and her husband, Kent, live in the Ray-Pec community, and they have twin daughters, Ashlea and Kailea, who attended Ray-Pec schools and graduated in 2011.

Jamie retired in 2024 from Ray-Pec after her impactful career as a school nurse. She continues supporting the Foundation by volunteering for the CAN pantry.

Raymore-Peculiar Sunrise Optimist Club

The Raymore-Peculiar Sunrise Optimist Club was chartered in 1980. One of the five purposes of Optimist International is to aid and encourage the development of youth. The club has certainly followed this mission as it supports students and the community in many ways.

The club has given more than $1 million to students and organizations in the district.

The club provides financial support for scholarships, Camp Quality (a summer camp for children with cancer) and Youth Court of Cass County. The club provides financial support and volunteer assistance for the Ray-Pec Caring About Nutrition (CAN) program.

The club recognizes two RPHS seniors each month as "Students of the Month," and honors the top 25 seniors, 15 juniors, and 10 sophomores at an Excellence in Education Banquet each spring.

The club sponsors the local Oratorical and Essay Contests, and provides prizes for winners. The club has given bicycles and tricycles to young children at the Raymore Festival in the Park.
