Hello everyone,
Recently, I was speaking with someone about what makes public libraries special. What I find truly unique is that these public institutions are open to the entire community - from infants to senior citizens! People can borrow material, attend a program, receive tech help or sit and read a magazine.
Just last week we welcomed first-grade classes from Sicomac School. While the students were selecting books to check out with their brand-new cards a group of older adults arrived via van from Longview. The library had something for all of them!
In our effort to provide for the needs of all community members, The Wyckoff Public Library will begin an ESL tutoring program for adult residents of Wyckoff. If you are interested in becoming a tutor please email Therese Jones. Training is provided by The Literacy Volunteers of Pascack Valley. After you have completed the training (additional dates will be offered throughout the year), you will be assigned a student.
We hope to see you soon,
Laura Leonard
