Chemung County Business Community Works Together

We updated you last month on construction progress of Stamped Fittings project at Airport Corporate Park. We are thrilled to share with you updates to this project again!
Several Chemung County business and STEG investors are involved int he project including Elmira Structures, Inc. Edger Enterprises, John Mills Electric Enterprises, Inc., and Davis Ulmer. This is an example of why doing business in Chemung County benefits so many in our community.
The Chemung County IDA provided financing in the form of tax incentives. The project also received a grant investment from New York State Empire State Development.

Grow-NY is a business competition focused on growing an enduring food and agriculture innovation cluster in the Grow-NY region. The competition attracts innovative, high-growth food and agriculture startups from across the globe.
Finalists in the competition will pitch their business ideas for a chance to win up to $1 million. The winning companies will be required to execute plans to increase jobs, connect with local industry partners and increase the local economy.
The applications are now open, and they will close June 15th, 2023. The finalists will be selected in August, mentoring business trips will take place from September to November. Pitch Competition/Summit will take place in November where final winners are selected.

Chemung County IDA Releases New Website!

The Chemung County Industrial Development Agency released a brand new website in March of 2023. The goal of the new website is to improve the user-experience and ensure that compliance requirements are met. The new website provides a much cleaner, and modern appearance for visitors.
The CCIDA asks for your patience in finding information on the new website, as the staff takes the time to upload new information, as well as ensure all of the old existing information is transferred over.

Southern Tier Economic Growth (STEG) a private, not-for-profit organization that fosters prosperity and vitality in Chemung County through the planning, promotion and implementation of economic development programs. Its board of directors has over 65 members, over 75 percent are private business people working side-by-side with chief elected officials and education and community leaders to help create and retain jobs, sustaining a strong economy. It works with the Chemung County Industrial Development Agency (CCIDA), a Public Benefit Corporation of the State of New York that was formed in 1975. The Chemung County IDA consists of a seven-member Board of Directors and provides a variety of tax incentives, financing, and/or related benefits to a broad range of eligible projects that provide a positive economic impact within Chemung County.
