International Night Volunteer Sign Up

International Night will be on this Friday, May 3, 5:00-7:30pm (Band performance pre-show at 4:40pm)! Join us in a celebration of the diversity of countries and cultures represented within our Cherry Chase community. You're invited to wear traditional clothing and bring your own reusable plate and utensils for food samples.

There are multiple slots to allow folks to help for part of the event and participate in the rest.

Spring Scholastic Book Fair This Week

The Scholastic Book Fair is this week from April 29th to May 3rd. This exciting event helps support our school library as well as the classroom libraries. We need volunteers to help setting up, operating the cash registers, assisting students and families, and taking everything down at the end. To volunteer:

Mon, Apr 29 - Thu, May 2, 2:30-3:30pm

Wed Open House - 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Ice Cream Social - May 1

PTA will be hosting an ice cream social on Wed May 1 before Open House. Come by for a frozen treat starting at 5:15pm, while supplies last. We plan to be wrapped up before classroom visits start at 6:00pm.

We need a few volunteers to help pass out the ice cream. Sign up here.

Yearbook Sale Ends May 1

The Cherry Chase yearbook deadline is fast approaching! Don't forget to get your copy from the Treering.com site by the May 1 deadline for free shipping to school. Make your kid's book even more special by customizing your 2 (or more!) personal pages that will be printed only in your copy!

Staff Appreciation Week of May 6-10

Staff Appreciation Week is coming up May 6-10!

This celebration is in recognition of teachers and staff and the contributions they make to our kids' futures.

If you are interested in lending a hand for the PTA supported staff-wide events, please reach out to hospitality@cherrychasepta.org. Please also look for a message from your room parent on how to celebrate your student's teacher.

Band May Concert on Thu, May 9 at 6:30pm in the Multi

Our May Concert will showcase fun band songs with ensembles and 5th Grader solos. This is a great opportunity to see and hear Band instruments before sampling instruments at our Band Try-Its on May 22.

Join us on Thursday, May 9 at 6:30pm in the Cherry Chase Multi Purpose Room.

Parent Survey on Walk-a-Thon and PTA programs

As we prepare for next year, we would love your input on the Walk-a-Thon, SimpliScience, and other PTA programs. Please complete this short survey.

5th Grade Promotion Committee

Just 6 weeks until the last day of school! We are looking for help continuing a Cherry Chase tradition of sending off our 5th graders with a little reception. If you can help make a program, plan decorations/photo area, or bring refreshments, please fill out this form.

ABC Readers Book of the Month: Eyes that Kiss in the Corners

This month in ABC readers, we will be reading the fifth book in the Champion year titled Eyes that Kiss in the Corners. Joanna Ho writes this book from her personal experience. The book promotes students’ understanding and appreciation for their heritage at a young age. When people know more about their own culture, they are better able to understand and appreciate the culture of others. This book is about recognizing your own inner strength, leading to a path of self-discovery and confidence.
