MIDDLE SCHOOL NWEA TESTING

Attention, parents of middle school students!

Our students have worked diligently this year to show academic growth and progress. As the year is coming to an end, we are wrapping up with one final round of NWEA testing. The students ROCKED their Winter testing! We would love to honor and celebrate their efforts on the Spring NWEA testing happening next week. We are planning to hold an NWEA Growth Celebration Raffle. Students will earn a raffle ticket for every point of growth they earn on both the Reading and Math tests. If you are able and willing to donate, we are accepting new items and gift cards to raffle off to students on Friday, May 3rd. You may drop off donations to the middle school front office. MIDDLE SCHOOL FOCUS

Cyber-interested Middle School Students & Parents!

Want to explore cybersecurity concepts? Looking to learn more about cybersecurity and didn’t know where to start? UCCS and NCC are hosting 2 Summer Intro to Cybersecurity Camps in June.

Students will master the basics of cybersecurity in a week-long camp that emphasizes hands-on learning and teaches cybersecurity from the ground up. Students will play cyber games, learn cyber concepts, and hear from community leaders in cybersecurity about their diverse careers and experiences in cyber with a new guest speaker each day.

• DATE: Monday – Friday each week, either June 10 - 14^th  or June 24 – 28^th, 2024

The end of the year is both exciting and a bit stressful. Here are a few strategies for making the best of it!

• Prepare. Be specific in setting aside time on your calendar for each course.
• Get quality sleep. Nothing is better for your brain than good rest.
• Keep a routine. Regular study time, supports exam performance FAR better than random cramming.
• TALK to your teachers & advisors. They WANT to help you!
• BREATHING breaks. 20 deep intentional breaths to reset your mind.
• Eat! Your body & brain need quality fuel during demanding times.
• Take a Walk. Great way to clear the mind when feeling anxious.
• Don't compare yourself to others. Everyone learns in different ways and that is OK! Do yourself a favor and take a break from social media during finals. You CAN do it!

THE THERAPY DOGS ARE COMING!



The CECCS Mental Health Team will have Go Team Therapy Dogs visiting CECCS in the High School Courtyard on Thursday, May 9th during lunch to give students a brain break and a boost of encouragement before finals.

Nuestros estudiantes han trabajado diligentemente este año para mostrar crecimiento y progreso académico. A medida que el año llega a su fin, estamos concluyendo con una ronda final de pruebas de NWEA. ¡Los estudiantes SACUDIERON sus exámenes de invierno!
