“My name is Layla McBrayer and I am very grateful to be serving as the new Administrative Specialist for Family Connection in Dawson County.

I am a wife to Steven McBrayer and a mother to two teenage boys, Cody and Hunter. My priority is my relationship with Christ and taking care of my family.

I enjoy the outdoors, gardening, hiking, and kayaking. I have a compassionate heart for serving others in our community.

Being able to collaborate with other leaders in Dawson County to provide resources and serve in this capacity is something I am honored to do.”

Every year Dawson County gives out approximately 350-500 backpacks full of school supplies to Dawson County students to help them walk into school the first day confident, prepared, and ready to SUCCEED!

Want to help? Feel free to: 1: order school supplies from our Amazon Wishlist (supplies will be delivered directly to us!), 2: drop items off at our office, 3: make a monetary donation (often the best option so we can purchase missing items!), or 4: drop items off at a collection bin (5 locations listed on the flyer).

At SHP, we fully believe that a bed is a basic need for the proper physical, emotional, and mental support that a child needs. When it was brought to our attention that the need for beds went far beyond our own neighborhoods, we stepped up and took initiative. We’re a national organization answering the call to a national problem.

If a child needs a bed, we want to make sure they get one. No kid sleeps on the floor in our town!
