My Grown-Up Christmas Wish – That’s A Wrap
Monday March 25th was a rainy day, but the lights of Hollywood were brightly lit, as production of My Grown-Up Christmas Wish, a movie starring Mario Lopez, his wife Courtney, and son Dominic began filming in the village.
The presence of movie crew members created an ongoing buzz, with the entire production taking place locally. Many downtown merchants and village residents were extras in the movie, adding to the excitement. Fans and visitors to the area were able to experience some of the street scenes being filmed, and the Lopez family shopped and dined locally. The local economy saw a spike with all the activity associated with this production.
Despite a very rainy (and sometimes snowy) weather pattern, the production team managed to balance indoor scenes with outdoor filming on clear days. A “Christmas festival” was staged at Brother’s Field on April 6th, and included many scenes being filmed from mid-afternoon through the evening hours. Mario, or Brian (his character name) is the Mayor of Long Grove in this screenplay. Several scenes were staged and filmed at Village Hall on Wednesday, April 10th.
The production (which concluded April 12th) is part of a series of family friendly holiday movies produced by Great American Family, a Fort Worth Texas based company that features family-friendly series, original holiday movies, and seasonal romantic comedies.
We will now await the finished product which is scheduled to premiere around Thanksgiving.
