Special Congregational Meeting
This is the Sunday that we will hold a special Congregation Meeting to vote on the proposed “Welcome Statement.” The meeting will be held in stages. We will gather after each of the three services for discussion and a vote. The vote will be by written ballot. All voting members are encouraged to attend. A special email was sent out to everyone on Wednesday that gives all the details. It is also attached here for your convenience. Please come!
Sunday, April 28 – 5th Sunday of Easter
Pastor Annabelle Markey will preach this Sunday at all three services. Pastor Annabelle is an ELCA pastor in our synod who is on leave from call at the present time. She has a creative spirit and does beautiful work making icons. We thank her for being with us so Pastor Kessinger can spend time with the Confirmation class. The traditional services have been modified in order to give adequate time for discussion at our special congregation meeting. Please come and worship with us at 8:30 am, 9:45 am, and 11 am. This week we need an acolyte/crucifer at the 8:30 am service and readers at both the 9:45 am and 11 am services.

Worship Workshop – April 28 from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm
Pastor Kessinger will meet with anyone who is interested to learn more about the role of acolyte/crucifer and/or Assisting Minister. She will go over the responsibilities and answer any questions you might have at this time.
Day of Prayer – May 6
Please join us on Monday, May 6, for our next Day of Prayer. We ask that you sign up for a thirty-minute segment to pray anytime from 8 am to 8 pm. In the end the goal is to have one continuous prayer for the 12-hour time frame. The focus of our prayers will be on Mental Health Awareness. Please sign up using this link.
McLean Day – May 18
This year McLean Day is on May 18. This is a day to celebrate and learn about McLean and to get to know our neighbors. Redeemer will host a booth in the park on that day and then a separate Welcome table will be set up at Redeemer to greet those who take the bus from our parking lot. We need volunteers to sign up to help either at the park or at Redeemer. Here is the link.
Pictures of our Graduates
It is that time of year when some of our young people are getting ready to graduate. If any of your children are graduating from high school or college, please send Cynthia a photo and some details about future plans. We also know that some of our young people are receiving special commissioning for their service in the military. We would like to honor them as well. Cynthia can be reached at church@redeemermclean.org.
