Program Year Ends May 19th

All programs resume as usual on Sunday, April 28 through May 19, our final Program Sunday, Pentecost Sunday, and the Shaker Harmony concert. Over the course of these four weeks we will celebrate Rite 13 with our young teenagers and their families, Mother's Day, and Pentecost, the end of the Easter Season and our regular program year.

CHERUB CHOIR

Rehearsal 11:00-11:30 Sunday

Cherubs (age 4-8) will rehearse this Sunday 4/28 immediately following communion. Ashley will gather children in the narthex for rehearsal in the choir room. Kids are dismissed to parents at 11:30AM.

Cherubs will perform in church on Sunday May 5 and will join the other choirs in the Shaker Harmony concert on May 19th.

RITE 13 CEREMONY

May 5, 2024

The Rite 13 Ceremony acknowledges the journey away from childhood into adulthood. It’s a ceremony where the community celebrates YOU and pledges to support you as you grow. Plus, it’s a time for those engaging in Rite 13 to lean on the support of their peers. Here’s a short article from the NYT about Rite 13 that offers a nice summary. 

We will gather to celebrate this milestone on Sunday, May 5, 2024, at the 10am service. If you’d like more information on Rite 13 or think you might be interested, please contact Allison Dudas.

Celebrating 250 Years of the Shakers in America

On Sunday, May 19 at 3:00PM, we invite you to an historic concert experience at St. John’s in partnership with composer Kevin Siegfried and our 4 combined choirs, including ALL of our Youth & Children's Choirs. The Shakers’ rich musical tradition will be considered and celebrated, and all proceeds from the concert will support the The Sabbathday Lake Shaker Village and The Choir School at St. John’s.

FAMILY SUGGESTED DONATION: $30
