Green Hill Church Sunday, August 27th at 10:00am
This year's annual Green Hill Sunday will take place on Sunday, August 27th beginning with Holy Eucharist service in the church at 10am with a community picnic to follow on the grounds. All are welcome to attend.

On Green Hill Sunday the congregations of the daughter churches of Green Hill Church – St. Peter’s, St. Albans, St. Philip’s, Quantico and St. Mary’s, Tyaskin—travel to Green Hill Church for a combined service.

St Peter’s, Salisbury Rector, Father David Michaud, will preside at this year’s service as Dean of the Southern Convocation. The Rev. Margaret Brack, Rector of St. Alban's Church, Salisbury, will be the preacher. Clergy from the Wicomico Episcopal Churches will assist in the service.

Excerpts from article below written by Vic Evans

Green Hill Church Sunday is a tradition that began over 150 years ago when congregations from five local Episcopal churches in Wicomico County began making a pilgrimage to their mother church for a joint, once-a-year worship service. This traditional gathering in late August honoring St. Bartholomew, one of the original 12 apostles, has continued uninterrupted since 1887, including during the 2020 pandemic through creation of a memorable pre-recorded service offered virtually on the designated Sunday. This year the service will be held on Sunday, August 27th at 10:00am.

Hundreds of people of all faiths come to experience this unique worship service in an early 18th Century colonial church building lacking electricity and featuring box pews, brick floor, barrel-vault ceiling, and towering side pulpit. All are invited to the free community picnic held afterwards on the church grounds situated on the shady banks of the Wicomico River. For more information and for directions to the Church go to Old Green Hill Church’s Facebook page. Read Vic's full article here.
Bishop's Appeal for Maui Fires

In the spirit of our many blessings, we ask that you reach out in your abundance and make a donation to Episcopal Relief and Development (ER&D) to aid those impacted in Maui.

The humanitarian needs are many, and ER&D stands ready to dispense much needed funds quickly. Your gift will provide our ER&D partners on the ground with critical supplies, such as food and water, pastoral care, and other urgent needs. You will also be assisting with the long-term effort needed to rebuild and heal. Please be generous with your gifts.

If you are not comfortable making your donation online to ER&D, you may mail or deliver your contribution (made out to the Diocese of Easton), to Bray House at 314 North Street, Easton, MD 21601, and please include in the memo line Bishop’s Disaster Relief.

We continue to pray for the victims, first responders, and relief workers in the wake of the wildfires that have affected the island of Maui.

Follow the Diocese of Hawaii's Maui Disaster Relief Webpage for updates.
