What's happening this week at St. Paul's

July 9-15, 2023

Upcoming Events & News

New Directory: We are in the final stages of printing directories and making them available to the congregation. Several members are being contacted for permission to make a change to their privacy settings in Realm (our Church Manage Software) in order to be included in the directory. Once everyone has been contacted, we will print copies and have them available in the Narthex for you to pick up.

Forward Day by Day: The August, September, and October issue of Forward Day by Day has arrived and will be available for you to pick up this Sunday in the Narthex and in the office during the week. We will also mail you a copy if you wish – please call or email Katie if you would like her to mail one to you.

Choral Evensong: Members of our choir will offer Choral Evensong on Sunday, July 23rd at 5:00 pm with Sarah Harmon officiating.

Bible Study: Kristian Ameigh will lead a bible study beginning on Sunday, July 9th at 2pm. Material will be obtained from The Gospel According to Improv by Les Carpenter; you are not required to purchase the book to attend the study.

Community Meal Teams: We have eight teams that rotate the responsibility of offering our community meals on Wednesday evenings. Some of these teams would benefit from having a few more volunteers. If you would like to get involved serving on a team, please let Katie know and she will pass your name along. Thanks.

Care Team Collection: The Care Team will be collecting personal care items to be distributed. There will be a basket to collect items at the front of the church as well as a box in the church office. Items to bring can include: travel size toothpaste and toothbrushes, dental floss, Kleenex, soap, shampoo, hand sanitizer, wipes, washcloths, deodorant, sunscreen, bug spray, feminine hygiene products and other toiletries.

Lector Signup: There will be a signup sheet in the Narthex for members to signup to be a lector for the 10:30 services in the fall; you can also contact Sarah Harmon to be added to the list. Training will be held after Labor Day before rotation begins.

Bishop Candidate Meet-and-Greets: Four churches across the diocese are hosting meet-and-greet sessions with the candidates for the 14th Bishop of Arkansas: the Rev. Canon John T. W. Harmon (Trinity Episcopal Church in Washington, DC) and the Rev. Mary Vano (St. Margaret’s Episcopal Church in Little Rock).

Thursday, August 3rd, 5:30 p.m. St. Paul’s, Fayetteville 224 N East Ave.

Friday, August 4th, 5:30 p.m. St. Alban’s, Stuttgart 1201 S Main St.

Saturday, August 5th, 11 a.m. St. Mark’s, Jonesboro 531 W College Ave.

Sunday, August 6th, 3 p.m. Trinity Episcopal Cathedral, Little Rock 310 W 17th St.

All are invited to attend one or more sessions to get to know the candidates. The question-and-answer portion will last 90 minutes, followed by a reception with food provided by all of the churches in the convocation. The candidates will be asked questions submitted prior to the Q&A sessions (questions will not be taken from the floor). To submit questions for the Q&A session, fill out the online form on the diocesan website. Questions will be accepted through July 14th.
