UPDATE: BRIDGE AND LA-23 NOW OPEN FROM PREVIOUS BRIDGE MECHANICAL ISSUE

BELLE CHASSE, LA. - The Belle Chasse Bridge and Tunnel Replacement Project announces the completion of work that fixed mechanical issue on the Belle Chasse Bridge.

The mechanical issue had resulted in the bridge being stuck in the lifted position, which has now been corrected.

Motorists are now able to pass through northbound LA-23 across the bridge. LA-23 and the Belle Chasse Bridge are back to normal operations.
