Last month, The Alliance recognized eight high school seniors pursuing occupations within high-demand Career & Technical Education (CTE) fields in the area. The Alliance solicited nominations from the community and received 82 submissions in total. Eight awardees were randomly selected, receiving a package of swag donations from area companies along with gift cards to local businesses. Appointments to State Boards and Commissions
Governor Whitmer’s office is seeking applicants for a wide range of state-level boards and commissions. If you, or others you know, are interested in applying, please visit Appointments at Michigan.gov, where you will find application instructions, a list of open seats, and descriptions of each group’s work. It’s important to see the Upper Peninsula represented on these boards and commissions where there is an opportunity to advocate for priorities that match our region’s needs.

MI Tri-Share Childcare Webinar

The Tri-Share program’s purpose is to improve the affordability, accessibility, and quality of childcare through a model in which the state, the employer and the employee share equal responsibility for childcare services by each contributing one-third of the total cost. It is believed that offering this benefit to employees will improve the ability of employers to attract and retain talent, thereby fueling economic impact and growth. Learn more about MI Tri-Share Childcare at Maresa.org.
