STUDY CALL FOR ACADEMIC ASSOCIATES - REMINDER
To all PIs and Study Coordinators:
Do you need help with an ongoing study? The Pediatric Research Education Office is accepting new studies for the Academic Associate "blue coat" program for the Summer 2025 semester. The Academic Associate Program provides undergraduate students the opportunity to learn about the fundamentals of clinical research and to conduct "real time" clinical research through consenting patients and their families into studies in the PCH Emergency Room (and other clinics at PCH and the U of U hospital).
Our mission is to provide this opportunity to students while supporting the research of the clinician scientists in our department. We are able to provide research support to PIs and study coordinators in the clinical setting as well as give opportunities for them to participate in didactic and mentoring sessions for the students. To utilize this program there is a charge of $650 per semester.
Additionally, students can earn credit for an independent study, should your project need more limited or focused support from just one or two students.
If you or someone you know is interested in utilizing the Academic Associate program for your research, please reach out to Matti Koenig. More information can be found on our website!

If you receive such a survey, immediately forward it to askosp@osp.utah.edu. Do not respond to these surveys, even when an immediate response is requested.
Inform Todd Bjorklund with the Office of Sponsored Projects (OSP) if you get unusual inquiries from agencies such as requests for out-of-cycle progress reports, requests for data, or confirmations you are not conducting certain activities. Please do not respond to such requests without feedback from OSP. Please continue to respond to all normal reporting requirements.
For further information on executive actions, specific agency guidance, and recommendations for researchers, please visit OSP's website dedicated to federal updates.

Bob Gray, MD - Cardiology
"We have been seeing Dr. Gray for 17 years and he is simply the best. Our visits are every 3 years, but he makes you feel like he just saw you yesterday. He has a way to put my son at ease."
Harsheen Kaur, MD / Care Team- Neurology
"Dr. Kaur is very personable and listens. She asks questions and seems to really care about her patients. She and her team are also pretty quick to respond when there's an issue."

Valerie Speight, NP - Endocrinology
"The info she provided us was very helpful. We felt listened to and that she treated us like we weren't just the next patient on the list, but important. We felt in good hands."
