Informed Parents Make Great Partners

Feeling the Love During Heart Month!

February is National Heart Month, and we kicked it off with an all-school assembly that showed our Owls the importance of a heart-healthy lifestyle. Mrs. Wange, our amazing Special Ed Para, shared her own experience as a Heart Hero, having survived a heart attack just six years ago. Her heart-healthy lifestyle of regular exercise, good sleep, and nutritious diet helped her to recover fully and quickly. Mrs. Wange's story is an inspiration for all of us to participate in the Kids Heart Challenge (or American Heart Challenge for our middle school students). Our goal is to raise $12,000 for the American Heart Association to continue its great work in support of Heart Heroes everywhere. We also have a schoolwide goal of having every Aspen Ridge family learn hands-only CPR. Each and every one of us could be in a position to save a life one day, and we'd love to be prepared in that event!

Between Valentine making with our buddy classes, Candy Grams on sale soon, and fun-filled Valentine's Day parties on the horizon, our hearts are full at Aspen Ridge this month. As usual, we have lots to share in this February newsletter. Thank you for taking the time to read through and stay up to date on all that's happening at ARPS!

A Note from the Head of School

Happy Heart Month, Aspen Ridge Owls!

February is the month for hearts and we continue to be in awe at the amount of love and joy that flows from our Owls each and every day! Standing outside and welcoming our Owls to school each morning is always a highlight. The sign of a strong, positive school culture is hearing the laughter and seeing the smiles of our students as they enter the building each day. We are so thankful for each and every child on our campus and love having the opportunity to educate them as your school of choice.

With our most recent 23-24 lottery in the books, we thank you for sharing your stories and positive experiences with neighbors, friends, and families. While we continue to strive for rigorous academic opportunities, we also continue to focus on our students' social and emotional well being. Our goal is to ensure students feel safe, loved, and welcomed, all while receiving a top-notch education that prepares them for the future and gives them the confidence to be problem solvers and adaptable for a future of success.

As we continue to stay warm through these cold winter months, our hearts continue to beat strong with so many experiences on the horizon. Thank you for being a part of the Aspen Ridge community and providing input and asking the questions that keep us learning and growing together.

With love,

Mrs. Salmeron

Head of School

Suds2Go Donation Coming Home Soon! Check Your Backpacks!

A business recently gave Aspen Ridge a very fun donation! Suds2Go (featured on Shark Tank!) creates portable hand washing stations that easily attach to a water bottle to make it easy to clean your hands when you're on the go. It's a fun product to bring camping, to the park, or to keep in your car for road trips.

Suds2Go donated one product for each student at Aspen Ridge, so check your backpacks as they'll be coming home soon!

This Month in Photos: Owls in Action

Congratulations to our top spellers in the final round of the ARPS Spelling Bee! We're proud of all who competed in class-level, grade-level, and school-level spelling bees!

Ms. White is firing up another student masterpiece. Our Owls have created amazing art this year using our kiln! You can see some of it displayed in the Heart.

Ms. Cousins' class was challenged to pretend the were stuck on an island and had to engineer a hat for sun protection. Looking good, Owls!

Everywhere Ms. Lombardi goes, a dance party follows! She and her class showed off their best Cupid Shuffle moves after the schoolwide assembly.

Our caring coins sure did add up in the Great Kindness Challenge! Thank you for helping us raise $2,876.46 for newborns in need!

These Owls cheered their classmates on to new heights on the rock wall. One of them made it to the very top!

Our Middle School students had a blast at the Winter Ball last weekend! Special shoutout to Liv Raichart for taking the lead on the event planning. Amazing work!

Thank you to Elite Entertainment for setting the scene with a super fun photo booth and DJ music that kept everyone on the dance floor all night!

Thank you to the PTO volunteers who helped with the Kickboard Store this month! Watch for a sign up if you'd like to help!

Grown-up Owls can have fun, too! Thanks to all who came out for Trivia Night at the Erie Social Club! We had a blast while raising funds for Aspen Ridge.

We Love Our ARPS Sponsors!

We have the best sponsors around, and we hope you'll show them some love when you're in need of a local service. Thank you, ARPS Sponsors!
