Art Museum of Greater Lafayette
Booze Hounds Bluegrass is a three-piece outfit formed with Eric Lee Reel in 2017. In 2021, Alec Bohuk joined the band, and in 2022 Taylor Christine completed their new sound. Reel plays lead guitar and sings most of their songs, Bohuk plays the mandolin, and Christine plays stand-up bass and sings harmony and some lead.
Booze Hounds’ sound consists of traditional bluegrass tunes, Grateful Dead covers, original songs, and everything in between. They play breweries and wineries in central Indiana but are looking to expand and are excited to perform at the Art Museum of Greater Lafayette!

On August 25th, the Art Museum of Greater Lafayette will be celebrating the opening of three new exhibitions; "Visible Silence" by Amy Kirchner, "Out of Bounds" by DeCarlo Logan, both opening August 25th and Indigenous Abstracts: From Alaska to the Pueblo Southwest: Works from our Permanent Collection, which opens in the Weil Gallery on July 22nd. Join us in celebrating the opening of these shows! The event will include light refreshments and artist comments. You don't want to miss it! Admission is free.

‘Vas’ brings the ceramic alternative firing techniques of Artists’ Own members: Diana Couk May, Angi Peterson, and guest artist Jacob Chambers. This exhibit’s trio of ceramic artists explores many new and exciting alternative firing techniques. The creative vas forms and the unknown surface results from fire and smoke will amaze and delight the viewer. Refreshments will be served at the reception. Come check out this amazing show and join the artists and members during Gallery Walk; this show will run through September 9th. Reimagined Journeys is a multidisciplinary art collaboration organized by Lafayette artist Bekki Canine. A musician, painter, and poets combine talents to create a multifaceted exhibit engaging the theme of journeys. At this exhibit, you can view the paintings of Bekki Canine along with poems by Kanika Ahuja, JK Anowe, and Logan February. At the reception, you will experience live poetry readings by Logan February and the performance of an original musical interpretation by musician Sheeza.

If you're looking for something to add a positive boost to your week - and your life - consider becoming part of Blue Moon Rising, a fun and friendly singing community. Led by Denise Wilson, Blue Moon Rising is comprised of people who are new to the exploration of their voices as well as seasoned singers. There are no auditions and all voices are welcome. The only requirements are an enthusiasm for singing and a a desire to help create a welcoming space for all.
We sing many styles of song, but we return often to songs that lead us towards peace, justice and a deeper connection with ourselves, those around us, and the Earth that sustains us.
Newcomers are invited to explore the choir at the first two practices on Aug. 22 and 29 before deciding to continue. To register or ask questions, contact Denise Wilson.

Civic Players of Logansport continues the Lottie and Bernice series with Livin' Large. This is a large cast so need several males and females to act along with our four principals. Scotty McCreery’s current album Same Truck contains his No. 1 RIAA Gold-certified singles “You Time” and “Damn Strait,” and his current single “It Matters to Her.” McCreery co-wrote 10 of the 12 songs on Same Truck. An expanded edition, Same Truck: The Deluxe Album, was released on November 18, 2022, with 6 additional new songs.
He achieved new heights by earning three back-to-back No. 1 hits from his last album Seasons Change, the RIAA Gold-certified project which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Country Album chart: the RIAA Double Platinum-certified “Five More Minutes,” the RIAA Platinum-certified “This Is It,” which stayed at the top of the charts for two weeks, and RIAA Gold-certified “In Between.” McCreery co-wrote all 11 songs on Seasons Change, which Rolling Stone named as one of the “40 Best Country and Americana Albums of 2018.”
