Board of Education Regular Meeting on May 9

The Tuesday, May 9, Board of Education Regular Meeting included an update on the District’s long-term facilities planning process. We encourage families and staff to watch the recording of the discussion here. The link includes a video index to highlight the facilities planning video segment. Please click on the topic link or scroll to the noted timestamp. Additionally, the presentation slides are available here.

Highlights from the update include:

  • The District has released a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) soliciting architectural firms for the Ludlow project. The process will culminate with the selection of architectural firms, who will then submit proposals in response to a Request for Proposals (RFP). The District plans to award an architectural contract by mid-July.
  • The District has filled the role of the Early Childhood Coordinator. Ms. Dejunee Lawson will join the District beginning July 1. Ms. Lawson is trained in the International Baccalaureate Programme, has a background as a preschool teacher and is currently an assistant principal at Tremont Montessori where she oversees 120 preschool students.
  • Treasurer Bryan Christman presented updated bond scenarios based on updated numbers from the Ohio Facilities Construction Commission (OFCC). The document may be viewed here.
