October Activities

Students have the opportunity to participate in many activities this month:

October 4:  juniors and seniors are going to JCCC to tour the facilities, learn about the application process, scholarships and financial aid. Even students not interested in JCCC will learn about the post-secondary process. Those going on the trip need to bring at least $10 for lunch. They will be meeting with ASOP graduates who attend the JCCC.

Sciences Classes

Pathways Update

Pathways is a group setting where students get to spend time with peers and Hollyn, ASOP mental health professional, exploring mental health topics that interest them.

"I try hard to make these groups fun and interactive so that the students want to participate,"said Hollyn."I take time to understand what it is that they want to get out of these groups so that they can actually apply what they learn in real life. There are various topics that they get to choose from ranging from Friendship 101 to managing anxiety in a healthy way."

Pathways is held during 4th or 5th period Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Depending on what group they are in, students will meet every other week or monthly for a quarter or semester time period.

Mental health is important to our school and offering these groups is a way for us to support our students and their success in their classes
