UPDATE: NIXA COMMUNITY POOL CLOSED FOR 2023 SEASON

UPDATE Regarding Nixa Community Pool - July 7, 2023:

Nixa Parks and Recreation is disappointed to announce that the Nixa Aquatics Center will not open for the 2023 season. Parks staff have been working diligently with a leak detection company and Nabholz multi-service contractors to make repairs to the pool leak discovered in May. Unfortunately, those repairs have not solved the entire problem. Due to the ongoing leak, more time will be required to diagnose and repair the pool. Unfortunately, this means we will not be able to open the pool this year. Nixa Parks and Recreation staff will immediately begin refunding all remaining swim lessons/classes, season passes, and reservations that remain. No action will be necessary from those who may be enrolled in these programs or services. If you have questions regarding your refund, please contact the Nixa Parks and Recreation office at 417.725.5486.  

We will continue to work to make the necessary pool repairs in preparation for next year. We thank the community for their support and we share your disappointment.

Court Closure for Maintenance:

August 7th - 13th

Heads up! The courts at The X Center will be closed for maintenance Monday, August 7th - Sunday, August 13th. The courts will reopen on Monday, August 14th at 8:30 am. During this time there will be no pickleball, volleyball, or basketball. We apologize for any inconvenience and thank you for your patience as we apply a polyurethane coating to protect and maintain the court floor.

Rotary Park Playground Upgrades

Rotary Park Playground will CLOSE on Monday, August 7th as crews prepare for new playground equipment to be installed. Crews will be working to remove the old playground equipment prior to an installation crew arriving to install the new equipment. We anticipate the playground to be closed approximately 4 to 6 weeks for this project. The Playground will be closed for use until the project complete. We will communicate the reopening of the Rotary Park Playground. We appreciate your patience as we work to improve our playgrounds.  

Tennis Lessons

Former collegiate coach, Ray Still, will instruct each participant and help build proper form and technique of each participant. Lessons will be held May, June, July, August, and September on Tuesdays or Thursdays. Open to ages 6 years old and older. Registration is $50 per four week session.

The Massengale Group of KW

The Movies in the Park series is presented by the Massengale Group of KW. All movies are held at McCauley Park, begin at dusk, and all movies are FREE! Please bring lawn chairs or blankets. Concessions will be available for purchase. All movies are dependent on weather. No smoking and no alcohol.

September 9th: Top Gun - Maverick (PG 13)

Summer It Up: Day Camp

Join Nixa Parks and Recreation for Summer It Up! The schedule is packed with field trips, activities, games, crafts, contests, guest speakers, and much, much more! The day camp is offered Monday through Friday (with the exception of Memorial Day and the 4th of July), from 6:30 am to 6:30 pm. The program is open to children ages 5 (must have completed Kindergarten) to 12 years old; Kindergarten - 6th grade.

Summer camp will begin May 26th and end the day Nixa Public Schools start school for the 2023-2024 school year. The fees for the program are as follows: $25 (per family) registration fee, Members (per week) $96.50, Non-Members (per week) $110. 

Fall Recreational Soccer

Recreational Soccer is geared towards introducing and fostering interest in soccer. Emphasis is on learning the game and having fun. The league is open to boys and girls; it is comprised of 5 different divisions, 3&4 years old, 5 years old and Kindergarten, 1st/2nd grade, 3rd-5th grade, and 6th – 8th grade. Games for every division are on Saturday morning/afternoons.

Season Dates: September 16th - October 21st. Practices begin the week of September 4th.

Open To: Boys and girls ages 3 years old (must be 3 by September 16th) to 8th grade.

Location: Games will be played on Saturdays at McCauley Park and practices are held at Rotary Park.

Fees: Members $42, Nixa Residents $47, Non-Residents $55.

Registration: Ends August 16th. Late registration from August 17th - 20th with an additional $10 late fee. Or until maximum capacity of 800 participants.

Fall Recreational Volleyball

Recreational Volleyball is geared towards introducing and fostering girls 3rd through 6th grade an interest in volleyball. Emphasis is on learning the game and having fun.  

Season Dates: September 18th/19th - October 16th/17th. 3rd/4th grade plays on Monday evenings; 5th/6th grade plays on Tuesday evenings. The season ending tournament will be held on Saturday, October 21st. Practice begins the week of September 6th. 

Open To: The program is open to girls in 3rd - 6th grade.

Location: Games will be played and practices will be held at The X Center.

Fees: Members $42, Nixa Residents $47, Non-Residents $55.

Registration: Ends August 16th. Late registration August 17th - 20th with a $10 additional late fee. Or until maximum capacity of 200 participants.

Fall Recreational Basketball

Recreational Basketball is geared towards introducing and fostering interest in

basketball. Emphasis is on learning the game and having fun.

Season Dates: Saturday, November 4th - December 16th. Practices begin the week of October 23rd.

Open To: Boys and girls ages 3 years old (must be 3 by November 4th) to 6th grade.

Location: Games are played at The X Center and Nixa Public Schools.

Fees: Members $42, Nixa Residents $47, Non-Residents $55.

Registration: Begins July 31st - October 4th. Late registration from October 5th - October 8th with a $10 additional late fee. Or until maximum capacity of 700 participants.

NASP: National Afterschool Archery Program

NASP Afterschool Archery Program follows the mission and guiding principles set by NASP. This program has a Beginner Class open to anyone, 4th - 12th grade, interested in learning archery. It also has an Open Shoot class open to anyone, 4th - 12th grade, who has successfully completed the Beginner Class. All equipment will be provided. Genesis Bows and Easton 1820 arrows. No other equipment is allowed.

Dates: Mondays & Wednesdays for 3-weeks. 

Session 2: October 16th - November 1st

Session 3: November 6th - November 20th

(make up class for November 22nd on the 27th)

Times: Beginner Class: 4 pm - 4:45 pm; Open Shoot Class 5 pm - 5:45 pm (must complete Beginner Class prior to enrollment).

Open To: The program is open anyone 4th - 12th grade.

Location: The X Center

Fees: Per Session. Members $22, Nixa Residents $25, Non-Residents $27. 

Registration: Begins August 7th and ends the Thursday prior to the session date or until maximum capacity.
