FROM THE SENIOR WARDEN
“Then he said to his disciples, 'The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few'” (Matthew 9:37). The story of Jesus giving authority to the twelve to do good works in his name is especially appropriate as we prepare for the beginning of the church year in August. We are thankful that our harvest is plentiful with increased attendance, rejuvenated children’s programs, a new Associate Rector and surely a lot more than I can enumerate here. In the mist of this abundance, in all candor there is a need for more laborers to do God’s work at Saint Paul’s Church. The Vestry is excited about the upcoming year, but we need more volunteers/participants in our ministries and committees. The most pressing needs are “laborers” for Sunday School teachers, nursery workers and volunteers for the worship and the parish life committees.

You can probably glean from the needs list that a common theme is families and children. We have more families and children now active than prior to COVID, and to continue to grow and be relevant in their lives is crucial. We need to have an active Sunday school; we need to have a safe and staffed nursery; and we need active committees that enhance our worship and fellowship. Our involvement adds so much to our fellow parishioners and a richness to our own spiritual experience. Please join us in finding ways for your time and talent to be a part of the growth and momentum at Saint Paul’s. Any member of the clergy or Vestry can help find a match between your enthusiasm (no prior training needed in many cases!) and the harvest.

Senior Warden
