KIMIA NOZARI

Kimia's journey with horses began after her first memorable lesson on a white pony named Minty during a family trip to the English countryside. This experience ignited a consistent passion for horse riding.

She later ventured into 3 Day Eventing at Mill Creek Equestrian Center, where under the guidance of Cory Walkey, she competed with her fiery thoroughbred, Thunderheart.
Unfortunately, her riding took a pause when Thunderheart passed away, but eventually, she found her way back to riding, and it led her to become a member of the SCPA.

Her devotion to horses and love for the SCPA is unwavering. So much so that she expressed to her longtime boyfriend that if he were ever to propose, she'd want it to happen at her favorite place in the world: Sullivan Canyon. Her boyfriend wholeheartedly honored her wish and, one afternoon in July, surprised her during her horse ride. Overwhelmed with joy, Kimia realized that she could love Sullivan Canyon even more than she thought possible, all thanks to the thoughtful proposal from her now-fiancé.
We'd also like to extend Kimia a special "THANK YOU!" for her exceptional fund raising efforts for the Dressage arena footing.

ESPERANZA
ELEMENTARY SCHOOL!
Our SCPA community really came together to host a great day for Esperanza Elementary School students.

The wonderful field trip group was made up of Esperanza Elementary’s Student Council and the schools 3rd grade Nature Ambassadors. They were accompanied by mom chaperones, a teacher and the school principal.Everyone enjoyed a riding demonstration, 5 activity stations and a pizza party lunch.

The SCPA was fortunate when Brendan O'Malley, a local resident, decided to make the Sullivan Canyon Preservation Association his Eagle Scout project focus. He led a dedicated team of up-and-coming scouts, they spent a week diligently working at the site. Their efforts included repairing, sanding, and either staining or painting all the picnic benches, mounting blocks, restroom fence, and tractor shed. This project undoubtedly enhances the experience for everyone who visits and enjoys the site.
