The City of Moreno Valley is Pro-Housing

Moreno Valley is proud to announce it has officially received a Pro-Housing Designation from the State of California’s Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD).

The City is among only 27 outstanding jurisdictions out of 540 across California—including cities and counties—to receive this exclusive designation.

As a designated Pro-Housing City, Moreno Valley can now receive priority consideration for several crucial housing grants and funding programs, and it will also allow the City to speed up the production of housing development, so more Moreno Valley families can access high-quality homes, regardless of income level.

Make a Splash with Pool Safety this Summer

As temperatures continue to soar, the City of Moreno Valley is reminding residents to stay safe around pools this season.

The City encourages residents to take the Pool Safety Pledge to learn how to prevent severe injury or death due to unsafe practices around pools.

Be sure to follow the ABCs of water safety:

  • Adult Supervision. Assign an adult Water Watcher to keep their eyes on the water at all times.

  • Barriers such as fences, self-closing and self-latching gates, pool motion sensors, windows, drain covers and door alarms must be in place.

  • Classes. Parents and Caregivers should take CPR, First Aid, and swimming courses available for both children and adults.

Pet of the Week: Goldie

Our Pet of the Week is Goldie, a lovely one-year-old Siberian Husky. Goldie is an absolute ray of sunshine with a friendly demeanor. She loves to have fun and would do well with a family with kids who match her energy. Plus, Goldie stands on her hind legs when she begs for a treat!

She has won the hearts of the Animal Shelter staff and a generous donor, who has offered to cover the cost of her spay surgery and rabies vaccination.

How can you say no to that?

If you would like to make Goldie or any pet from the Moreno Valley Animal Shelter part of your family, please contact the Moreno Valley Animal Shelter at 951.413.3790 or visit www.moval.org/pets.
