From Rev Christen
Dear Epiphany Parish,
A few minutes before our 9:30am worship service this past Sunday, we noticed that there was a lot of water on the floor of the undercroft. During the rainstorm we had on Saturday night, the drain in outdoor emergency exit stairwell filled so fast that it couldn’t keep up, and all that water came into the undercroft under the exit door.
When I announced at church that we needed volunteers to stay afterwards to help clean up, so many people stepped up to help. Thank you to everyone who helped clean, mop, and move furniture during and after the service! The undercroft is now dry and all the furniture has been put back to order.
It takes a lot of time, effort, and money to keep the three buildings (And a gazebo and garage!) that are owned by the church safe and maintained. This month we are going to re-launch our property committee to help John Robinson, our Junior Warden, and the vestry to keep on top of the maintenance and stewardship of the property our church has been entrusted to care for. If you are interested in serving on this committee, the next meeting will be on Sunday, August 27th after the 9:30 am worship service.
Many blessings to you all on this first day of August.
Just a note: I will be away on Sunday to visit family and Rev. Hal will be preaching and presiding. Thank you all for this chance to get away!
Peace in Christ,
Christen
