Solana Beach Marine Safety’s Pink Patch Project

The Solana Beach Marine Safety Department will proudly wear pink patches on their regular duty uniforms for the entire month of October in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. These distinctive pink patches have been uniquely designed for their involvement in the Pink Patch Project. The Pink Patch Project is a collaborative campaign involving numerous public safety agencies across the nation. This vital project not only raises awareness but also actively contributes to breast cancer research. To show your support, you can purchase these pink patches and wear them throughout October, with all proceeds from patch sales benefiting the Susan G Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.

Annual Coastal Cleanup Day

Volunteer for San Diego County's largest single-day environmental cleanup event! Join I Love A Clean San Diego on Saturday, September 23rd, for the Annual Coastal Cleanup Day. Together, let's protect our oceans from litter and debris. San Diego's Coastal Cleanup Day is a significant part of the International Coastal Cleanup, led by The Ocean Conservancy and coordinated statewide by the California Coastal Commission. I Love A Clean San Diego has been the official organizer of Coastal Cleanup Day in San Diego County since its inception in 1985. You Are Not Alone (YANA)

The You Are Not Alone (YANA) program, offered by the San Diego County Sheriff's Department, provides companionship and security to elderly, disabled, and shut-in residents. This free service ensures that those who live within the department's jurisdiction and have limited social support can receive regular check-ins and assistance during emergencies. The YANA program has a successful history of saving lives by promptly responding to medical crises and accidents involving elderly individuals living alone. Residents can easily enroll in the program by contacting their local Sheriff station, with all personal information kept confidential.
