Be a Goldfish!

I just finished the last episode of the final season of Ted Lasso.

Of course I cried, and didn't want the series to end.

One of the famous lines in the show was when Coach Lasso tells one of his players to 'Be a Goldfish' when he apologizes for messing up a play.

Here's a 55 second video of the line:

Lasso says Goldfish are happy because they have a 10 second memory.

They live in the present and don't dwell on their mistakes and the past.

Admittedly, I over-thought this at first... finding fault in it's simplicity.

But what if this is actually great advice?

What if we can keep moving forward moment by moment

and not get stuck in our over-thinking monkey mind.

I'm going to practice this right here and now.

I am going to be a Goldfish, er human

keeping my eyes wide open

feeling my butt in the chair

and my feet on the floor

Typing these words to you

simply breathing and being

and thinking of you reading this.

Aaaaah, sweet!

I am here to remind you that

maybe life is simpler than we make it.

Maybe BE HERE NOW

is truly the best advice there is.

Be a goldfish

Enjoy the water

And keep swimming.

Unnecessary possessions are unnecessary burdens. If you have them, you have to take care of them! There is great freedom in simplicity of living. It is those who have enough but not too much who are the happiest.

YOUTUBE: How to Simplify Your Life (6 minutes)

I believe we would be happier to have a personal revolution in our individual lives and go back to simpler living and more direct thinking. It is the simple things of life that make living worthwhile, the sweet fundamental things

such as love and duty, work and rest, and living close to nature.

a client story, a win or struggle as a soulo business owner.

TIP: Turn all of your food items to show the picture facing forward. Seeing bar codes and a bunch of writing is disturbing to our nervous system.

Plus, it makes everything easier to find.

Inspirational SOUL of the Month

The University of Santa Monica, founded by John-Roger and led by Master teachers, Drs. Ron & Mary Hulnick for over 40 years is the leader in Spiritual Psychology and Soul-Centered Education. My Soul first brought me through the doors of this incredible University back in 1994. I knew instantly that my education there would have a profound positive impact on my life. USM felt like HOME to me, a place I had deeply longed for, 'school the way I always wished it would be,' and it was this and more.

USM is by far the BEST thing I have ever done in my life. I will forever be grateful to Drs. Ron & Mary Hulnick, my classmates, assistants and staff, and the life-long friends I have made, and to my wise soul for leading me there almost 30 years ago, and keeping me involved all of these years.

USM is my 'happy place.' It's the place I go to remember who and what I am, and to witness others in this glorious process of remembering. In addition to continually learning, healing and growing, my USM education and involvement helps me to thrive, contribute and share my unique gifts openly. I graduated with my Masters in Spiritual Psychology from USM in 1996, completed an additional Third Year in 1997, earned a certificate in Consciousness, Health and Healing in 2002, and have participated in many other courses over the years. I have assisted USM classes since 1997 and dove heart-first into their online Zoom format when the Pandemic caused a massive shift in how classes were held. I still assist at least one class a month at USM and love every precious minute of my time there, especially in these often challenging times that are calling us each to Awake to Love. There is no place on earth I would rather be than in this beautiful community of Loving and Remembering.

I am so excited to share that USM is offering a FREE 5 session course in Spiritual Psychology called: A Golden Opportunity to Live a Spirit-Inspired Life. The first session about our 'Spiritual Curriculum' happened July 11th and it was amazing! It's not too late to sign up to be a part of this 5 part series. You can find out more info, including class dates, and register for the complimentary course HERE. Once you sign up you can get access to a video of the first live class so you haven't missed anything. I hope to see you there!

Your task is not to seek for love, but merely to seek and find all the

barriers within yourself that you have built against it.

Most of the luxuries, and many of the so-called comforts of life,

are not only not indispensable, but positive hindrances to the elevation

of mankind. With respect to luxuries and comforts, the wisest have

even lived a more simple and meagre life than the poor.
