Support making the Westside the Best side by becoming a member. Select your membership plan based on your residential address. There are two types of NWCA Membership. If your address is in the area beginning at Westshore Estates and ending at La Casa Resort then you are a VOTING member. If you live outside of these areas you are a NON Voting member.

May’s Firefighter of the Month is Robbie Yih, Congratulations Robbie! Robbie during the Month of May was always available for calls, volunteering and more. Robbie is always professional and courteous with a smile on his face. Keep up the great work Robbie!

TRAINING TUESDAY
Busy week for NWFR with Lt. Zimmer teaching part 2 of WSPP-WFF 1 (wildland/ wildfire) Training which included theory on pumping systems including how to operate a Mark 3 pump and various skills. Firefighters then moved to the establishing a water supply using a bladder, pumping water, hose rolls and digging a guard (using the Val’ technique) This training provides BC wildfire certification for our NWFR members. Great work everyone!

North Westside Fire Rescue was out this week practicing part 3 of WSPP-WFF 1 (BC Wildfire Certification). Lt. Zimmer led everyone through wildfire theory before members got out and put it into action by establishing a water supply, pumping skills, communications, hose rolls and more. | If you see us out, give us a honk! | |

From June 28 to July 12, 2023 it is Bulky Item Collection during regular operation hours at North Westside Transfer Station.
All Bulky items - $20 a truckload
Fridges and Freezers - No charge.
Fridges and Freezers must be empty.
Cash or Cheque Only
No Construction, Renovation Material
No Hazardous Wastes. No Electronics.

SUMMER READING
Summer reading challenge hosted by the North Westside Community Library for kids 2 to 17. Challenge is to read a minimum of 20 minutes a day for 5 days a week for 8 weeks.
There will be prizes each week and a Sundae Party for participating and completing the challenge! Click the flyer for registration and challenge details!

NWCA has invited Kelowna Disc Dog Club up to Westshore Estates Community Park to host a full weekend trial!
The NWCA will host and will be providing a BBQ lunch on both days! We welcome all Westsiders to come out and enjoy the exciting games and professional dog competition!

Respectfully it is requested that only the participating leashed dogs be at Westshore Estates Community Park during these event days and hours.
