Fall soccer is right around the corner with the new recreational season kicking off in just a few weeks! It has been an amazing summer of camps, events, tournaments, futsal, and more, and WE CANNOT WAIT to start another season of rec soccer together soon. This June and July, a combined 230 male and female athletes joined us at Regis University to showcase their skills in front of 80+ college coaches representing schools from across the nation! Each year this event grows and helps place more local athletes on the radar of collegiate programs looking to fill their rosters.

CRYSC offers athlete assistance in the college recruitment process through the CRYSC College Placement Program (CPP) starting their freshman year in high school. This free service helps teams and individuals with player profiles, video development, online support guides, college communication, and understanding of college timelines. The CPP provides players with the opportunity to take their education and game to the next level.

The Colorado Rapids Women finish the 2023 season as Rockies Division Champions, Mountain Conference Champions, and WPSL Playoffs Regional Finalists! A HUGE thank you to all of our fans who showed up near and far this season. It was one to remember and only possible with your support!

This July, the Rapids 06G ECNL team wrapped up a memorable year of soccer that saw our girls establish themselves as one of the best teams in the nation for the third year in a row, battling through the ECNL National Playoffs and Finals. The Rapids 06’s playoff run ended in the semi-finals in defeat to Solar FC. We are extremely proud of the team’s efforts this summer and throughout the whole year!

Of course, a National title would’ve been a lovely way to cap off a remarkable year, but the love we have, the connections we’ve made, and the memories we’ve shared will last a lifetime. Futsal is an exciting, fast-paced, small-sided football game that Rapids Youth Soccer is proud to host in Colorado! In 2020 the Club partnered with United Futsal to make CRYSC the premier destination for youth futsal in the state and provide new, unique opportunities for advanced-level players looking to take their game to the next level. Athletes excel in different ways and CRYSC Futsal programming was created to give players another option to progress through the Elite Player Pathway that suits their goals and skill set. The past three years have seen the program grow into one of the Club's top Elite experiences, and we encourage advanced-level athletes interested to sign up for next month's annual tryouts!

"This year in Orlando was a very good step for our futsal program and our athletes. Most of the teams attending competed in the Gold and Silver divisions, and all of our players across the divisions made us very proud. Not only the results, but we can see that our program is developing more and more every year, that the players are more confident, and that they're playing better futsal. A special congratulations to the teams that played in the Gold division - the highest level of world competition. This gives us confidence that every year we can match up with the best. It was a spectacular two days of collaboration between Rapids Youth Soccer and United Futsal, where players from across Colorado came together to learn from the pros. Congrats to Sophia Harkless on being named the UCHealth Player of the Month award for July 2023!

Sophia plays goalkeeper for our Rapids 13G Fort Collins Select II and Select I teams, where her positive attitude and extremely kind nature are seen every day. As a player, Sophia won Player of the Week for both of her teams in March 2023. Off the field, Sophia is a proud youth member of the Alpaca Owner’s Association, showing her alpacas at various events, and winning multiple blue and red ribbons along with Grand Champion awards in her age group.

In this July blog, CRYSC's Director of Mental Performance Katie Pagel examines how role models have a major influence on young people's identity exploration and identity development.

"Having a role model is not about trying to be someone else, or emulate someone else’s path. If anything, that approach will be actively unhelpful in the long term. Rather, having a role model we connect with can provide us with the inspiration, belief, and resilience needed to become more of ourselves; to figure out what we want, persist along our own path, and ultimately achieve whatever goals we have set our sights on."
