RECENT CHURCH ACTIVITIES
COMMUNITY YARD SALE
Saturday, April 27, 2024,

Special attraction: Milton & Sons Mobile Farm Petting Zoo
All of the weeks of preparation, and the work put in to collecting and setting up the vast variety of items on the sales tables were well worth it, as the church courtyard was filled with eager (and hungry) customers last Saturday.

The story can best be told through pictures of this church sponsored neighborhood event.
It was Deborah Carrington’s suggestion to hold a yard sale in April. She was responsible for selling tables to neighbors who wanted sell their own things, receiving items that church members and friends donated for the church to sell, and arranging for the petting zoo.
Ingrid Krumdick is developing a thrift store on the church campus, and she opened the doors and set up numerous tables to offer the collected items for sale.
Mary Wilburn headed up the bake sale, making numerous loaves of bread and other goodies herself and enlisting many others to bring their home made baked goods as well. The entire inventory of the delicious baked goods was completely sole out.
Carla Tinsley activated the kitchen, and she and several helpers prepared and served lunch for the hungry shoppers. Pulled pork, hamburgers, hotdogs, cole slaw and baked beans were the delicious fare. So popular was the lunch table that the crew had to send out for additional burgers and buns
There were way too many helpers to recognize by name here, but rest assured that the yard sale could not have taken place without them. With a big THANK YOU to all of them, the following pictures help tell the rest of the story.

With proceeds from the sale of donated items, thrift store items, bakery goods, lunch, and some generous monetary donations, the Yard Sale earned $5,500.
All proceeds benefit the church’s Capital Building Fund & the organization of a new Thrift Store.

HOBE SOUND COMMUNITY PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH
BUILDING IMPROVEMENT PROJECT

BUILDING ON A STRONG FOUNDATION

On January 10, 1926, Hobe Sound Community Church was organized under the supervision of the Presbyterian Church, USA.
As we look toward our 100th birthday, we are making plans for the exciting centennial celebration to take place in the year 2026. These plans include an ambitious and much needed Building Improvement Plan extending through 2025, and beyond. All donations to this fund-raising campaign to help maintain and preserve our historical church facility will be warmly received and appreciated.

THE FIRST PHASE OF THE BUILDING IMPROVEMENT PLAN consisted of installation of new storm resistant windows in the Sanctuary and Manse, and accompanying needed repairs. That phase has been completed.

THE SECOND PHASE OF THE PLAN consisted of renovations in the kitchen and fellowship hall. That phase has been completed.

THE THIRD PHASE OF THE PLAN consisted of repair and painting of the church steeple.

THE FOURTH AND FINAL PHASE OF THE PLAN will be replacement of the church roof and attached structures.

Special recognition is due to Elder Raelyn Holmes, the chairman of the Building and Grounds Committee. She has taken charge of all the detailed work involved in getting bids, selecting vendors, keeping track of work schedules, checking on work-site progress and being available to the work crew for questions. Thank you, Raelyn, for all the time and effort you have put into this and the many previous building improvement projects.
