I want to thank Anita Kendrick (8:30) and Rhys Everspaugh (11:00) for the special music this past Sunday. Singing and music add a special element to our worship. Although the Temple was built during Solomon’s reign, 1 Chronicles 25 tells us that it was actually his father David who organized the Levite temple musicians and singers for leading the Sanctuary worship. Music is one of God’s greatest gifts, and He gives it to those He wills to be used in His worship. If you have been taking a break from choir, I want to encourage you to rekindle the gift and calling God has placed on you. And, if you have not been in choir, but have a desire to be a part of our great worship ministry, please come to the next practice on Sunday at 5:00pm.
This month our mission emphasis is the Margaret Lackey State Missions Offering. According to mbcb.org, “The Margaret Lackey Offering for State Missions is the primary funding stream for key mission efforts in many different areas: Garaywa Camp and Conference Center in Clinton, Central Hills Retreat near West, Missions Volunteers, Church Multiplication, Community Ministry, Disaster Relief, Criminal Justice Ministries, Collegiate Outreach, Christian Women’s/Men’s Job Corps, Cross-Cultural Evangelism, Language/Deaf Ministry, and Port Ministry.” The state goal this year is $2.25M, and the RPBC church goal is $4000. If we all give as God leads us, I am confident that we will exceed this goal. Special Margaret Lackey Offering envelopes are located in the pew racks, the Sanctuary foyer, or are available through the church office. You may also designate your special offering through on-line giving.
I am looking forward to worshipping with you Sunday!
You are Loved!
