While we are incredibly grateful for all our mentors, we are proud to honor Joanne Sudman as HEF’s 2023 Mentor of the Year!

Joanne has been mentoring for four years and currently has two mentees at Sumner High School. She has truly gone above and beyond to guide them through both academic and personal obstacles. Joanne

is always advocating for TSIC and willing to help. Joanne also encourages those in her network to mentor and, just this year, she helped us recruit two new awesome mentors!

While there are no “official” mentoring sessions that take place during the summer, we do encourage mentors and mentees to stay in touch. The TSIC App is a great way to do just that! You can video chat and message your mentee in the app.

However, keep in mind that the Take Stock App will be offline for summer maintenance at the end of June. The app will be unavailable from June 30th at 9 p.m. to July 31st at 7 a.m.

We are also facilitating a few in-person events this summer that both mentors and mentees can participate in. Sign-up below!

Frameworks Professional Development Workshop

HEF has partnered with Frameworks of Tampa Bay to offer a free mentor/mentee summer professional development workshop.

This workshop will focus on developing foundational Emotional Intelligence and Self-Awareness skills.

Lunch will be provided to all participants!

Senior Spotlight: Congratulations, Class of 2023!

Hillsborough Education Foundation is extremely proud of the more than 80 graduating seniors in our Take Stock in Children mentoring program!

In middle school, they made the commitment to work hard, maintain good grades and regularly meet with their mentor and college success coach throughout high school to help keep them on the path to success. Their dedication has paid off! They'll be graduating with a 2-year college scholarship and are making big plans for the future.

🎓 Zuhe, an Alonso High School Senior, was named the winner of the CTRL Your Future Butler Weihmuller Katz Craig LLP Free Laptop contest.
