SLA is looking for a member to provide representation on the Saskatchewan Book Awards Board of Directors for a one-year term.
The Saskatchewan Book Awards (SBA), a non-profit organization led by a volunteer board, began operations in 1993 when the Saskatchewan Writers' Guild, Saskatchewan Publishers Group (now SaskBooks) and the Saskatchewan Library Association joined forces to establish a provincial writing and publishing awards program.
SBA has a strong reputation across Canada’s writing and publishing communities. It provides a supportive environment for Saskatchewan’s authors and publishers, as well as a venue to showcase our province’s literary talent.
As an external representative you would provide volunteer board support to SBA to advance their mission and organizational objectives and provide follow up reports to the SLA Board of Directors.
Meetings are held virtually (typically four to six times per year). The 2023-2024 meeting schedule will be announced soon!
If you would like to get involved in board governance and support local authors and publishers from across the province, please email your interest to info@saskla.ca.
