“I look forward to spending time with my support worker because we do lots of fun things together like attending concerts, going to movies and shows, playing baseball, swimming, bike riding, baking, going for car rides, doing crafts together. We have good conversations, and we laugh a lot too! My worker is like family to me and spending time with her makes me happy.” - Megan

“As a parent, support workers provide much needed respite! Parents get a break from their caretaking tasks, and kids can enjoy socialization beyond their immediate family. They keep our kids involved in community activities. They facilitate new friendships and help maintain connections with their current friends, particularly through the pandemic with the use of technology (Zoom) and fun, creative activities. We were so grateful for this as it helped keep my daughter in a positive state of mind! Support workers are very important to families. They provide valuable and loving service to the most precious members of our families.” - Angela (Megan's mother)

"On behalf of everyone at Amherstburg Community Services (ACS), we would like to acknowledge and thank all of the Development Service Workers (DSW) for the essential service you provide. Your contributions are invaluable to enriching the lives of those you serve.”

Sincerely, Kathy DiBartolomeo, Executive Director, ACS
"Few of St. Clair's programs have the degree of first-hand, highly personal, one-on-one involvement that our Developmental Services Worker and Personal Support Worker programs do. The individuals in these occupations have truly fostered inclusivity in our community by being the assistive agents who have broken down barriers. They aren't just care-givers, they are freedom-givers."
- Dr. Patti France, President, St. Clair College

Thank you for believing in us and seeing the potential in all of us.
Thank you for being a part of our lives through the good and bad times.
Thank you for all of the little things you do for us each day that we might not notice.
