OUR MISSION:

St. Rita School inspires students in Pre-Kindergarten through grade eight to achieve academic excellence in a safe, nurturing and faith-filled Catholic environment.

We prepare students to be morally responsible, innovative thinkers who, in today’s technology-guided global community, live and share the Love of Christ.

From the Desk of Mrs. Tiezzi

Dear St. Rita Parents and Guardians,

Today is Administrative Assistant’s Appreciation Day. We are blessed to have two amazing Administrative Assistants, Mike Halloran and Laura McKay staffing our main office, assisting our parents, teachers, and students daily, as well as keeping me on track, which is quite the undertaking. Thank you Mike and Laura for all that you do for our school community. We hope your day is as amazing as you both are!

The St. Rita School Golf Tournament is scheduled for Monday, May 6, at the Vue CT (formerly Laurel View Country Club), located in Hamden. The HSA golf committee is excited to announce that Quality Life Health Care is offering a new NISSAN ROGUE to the winner of the Hole In One competition! So come golf with us on May 6. Play begins at 9 AM and meals are included with golf. Invite your friends, family, and co-workers! All are welcome. Opportunities are still open for golfers, sponsors, or donors to participate by emailing RaisingCrusaders@gmail.com. For more information and to register, click HERE.

Our students and staff have been practicing school safety drills under the guidance of our school safety consultant.  We will be holding a safety drill in the near future. If you have not yet spoken to your child about the need to follow the school safety and fire drill protocols, please do so.

During the week of May 6-10 we will celebrate our marvelous and dedicated faculty during Teacher Appreciation Week. Also on May 8, we will celebrate National School Nurse’s Day. Please take some time over the next few weeks to encourage your child to write a thank-you note/card/picture to give to their teacher during Teacher Appreciation Week and if they are a frequent flyer at Mrs. Palma’s office, a special card/note for her on Nurse’s Day as well!

Thank you to everyone who has completed the re-enrollment on-line process using the new platform - FACTS. Now is the time we start planning for staffing, classes, materials, and programming for the upcoming school year. We want to give our current families priority as some classes may be approaching capacity. Please be advised that the FACTS Financial Aid portal is also open. In order to re-enroll for the 2024-2025 school year, as well as to apply for financial aid, your 2023-2024 tuition account must be current, and you must have already submitted your on-line reenrollment and paid the deposit fee. As financial aid monies are limited, funds will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis until the money is depleted. If you have not yet re-registered for next year, please do so now.

Please be reminded that students transition into summer uniforms on Monday, April 29. The summer uniform footwear is sneakers. Those students who choose to continue to wear the regular school uniform may not wear sneakers. Green fleece jackets are not part of the summer uniform or part of the gym uniform.

Much excitement is growing around our upcoming play “Frozen Jr.” scheduled to open Thursday, May 16.  If you have not yet purchased your tickets you may do so by clicking Here. The cast and crew, along with our marvelous director, music director, and choreographer/producer, have been working diligently since January learning their songs, lines, and dances. Much thanks to our Team Mom and Team Dad for their support and hard work to make this production an extravaganza to remember.

Thank you for entrusting your child/ren to our care. Have a terrific week.

God Bless,

Mrs. Tiezzi

Nurse's Corner

Hamden Public Schools and St. Rita School will now be following the new respiratory virus guidelines set forth by the CDC and our local health department.

COVID will now fall into the same category as the flu and RSV as a respiratory virus.

If your child develops symptoms of a respiratory virus (cough, fever, runny nose , congestion, fatigue), they should stay home until they are fever free for 24 hours without the use of medication and their symptoms are improving. They can return to school and we would encourage the use of a mask for 5 days.

Reminder:

Required physicals for PreK , Kindergarten and Grade 7:

Please remember to send in your child's physical if they are entering grade 7, PreK, and/or Kindergarten .These are required for entry into school in August.

Medication reminder: as allergy season approaches:

Please do not send medication into school with your child. This includes any Over The Counter medication (Advil, Tylenol, Midol, cold medicine, allergy medicine, etc). Medication that needs to be taken during school hours must be brought into school by an adult along with a medication order from the physician.

If you wish to have cough drops available to your child please send them into school with a note. The nurse will keep them in her office and administer them to your child as needed.

Thank you for your cooperation

Please pray for all the deceased members of our

St. Rita Community.
