College of Arts and Sciences 2022–2023 Year-End Review

Message from the Dean

This time last year I came to Cleveland to visit the city and the university, and truthfully, I fell in love with both. A month later I agreed to become the College of Arts and Sciences’ inaugural dean. My wife Vickie and I have not looked back since!

This academic year has indeed come with challenges. Building a new college is no easy task. But I am the kind of person who sees challenges as solutions in reverse. The College of Arts and Sciences is filled with the most amazing faculty, staff, and students. Together we have set the right course to an even brighter future that involves innovative teaching and learning environments; cutting-edge research, scholarship, and creative activity; and stronger relationships in the community. We have established an inclusive and supportive culture. We make time to enjoy each other’s company and to celebrate our intellectual and artistic accomplishments.

On that note, please take a moment of your time to review the accomplishments of the first year of the new College of Arts and Sciences at Cleveland State University. Thank you for your support!
