Poet Barbara Bulova Brown's new book Viewpoints is an autobiographical portrait of life experience. Written partly in free verse, each page gently moves her life story forward through the moments, great and small, that make up the fabric of a life. Each poem brings us closer to the poet herself. Restrained. Sensitive. Beautifully polished. Copies of the book will be available for purchase and signing. Refreshments will be served.   Join us in supporting our local talent!

Ted Reinstein Returns with his new Book:
New England General Stores:  Exploring an American Classic
November 16 7pm

The general store, as old as America itself, harkens back to a simpler time and a more innocent and rural nation. It was a homey and familiar place where you could buy the paper, penny candy, four-penny nails, or simply tarry on a cold winter morning over a cup of hot coffee with a neighbor or two.
Co-authors Ted Reinstein and Anne-Marie Dorning profile some of New England's most beloved and longtime landmark stores, many of which have played out a real-life "Rocky," rising up from the retail mat against seemingly overwhelming odds. This book looks at how, where, and why this has all happened, by focusing on individual historic stores and their still-unfolding stories.

Ted Reinstein is best known in New England as a journalist and reporter for Chronicle, Boston's celebrated (and America's longest-running, locally-produced) TV news-magazine. He has two other books, A New England Notebook: One Reporter, Six States, Uncommon Stories, and Wicked Pissed: New England's Most Famous Feuds (I think he likes Subtitles a Lot!!). This, his third book, is written with Anne-Marie Dorning, former ABC journalist and his wife.
