City Council to award construction bid at March 27 meeting

Pre-construction neighborhood meeting to be scheduled

The Dover City Council will consider a resolution at its Wednesday, March 27 meeting that authorizes awarding the construction bid for the Fifth and Grove Reconstruction Project. The city received two bids for the project; after reviewing the submissions, city staff recommends the City Council award the bid to N. Granese & Sons of Salem, Massachusetts for a cost not to exceed $5,147,405.

If awarded, city staff will work with the contractor to schedule a neighborhood meeting to discuss the project scope and impacts before work begins, which is anticipated to start later this spring.

The bid contract resolution is available in the Council's meeting agenda materials. Bid documents and responses are available here.

Tree waivers and permission to enter forms

Tree waivers have been mailed to property owners within the project limits who own trees located in the public right of way deemed necessary for removal.

Permission to Enter forms have also been mailed to property owners whose property may be temporarily impacted. Permission to Enter temporarily allows the contractor to be on private property to perform project work, such as constructing sidewalks.

Please return the enclosed owner response forms to the City of Dover.
