ComEd Applications Deadline Extended!


The ComEd Powering the Arts Program has been designed to assist local institutions in these efforts by providing funding for some expenses toward these goals (grant awards of up to $10,000).

Eligible applicants are nonprofit arts and cultural institutions that are located within ComEd’s service territory, and must be in good standing with ComEd related to provision of utilities. Application Deadline: 4/12/24 at 5pm. You can find all the information and application forms here.

Sensory-Friendly Performances for Autism Acceptance Month


In anticipation of Autism Acceptance Month in April, we would like to highlight the sensory-friendly work of our member theatres. Please check the Access Calendar to make sure your upcoming sensory-friendly performances are listed (as well as other accessible performances!). If you are not sure how to add your Access performances to the calendar, please email kara@chicagoplays.com. In addition, if your theatre has sensory-friendly educational programs or events, please submit your information in the “Community Announcements” section of this entry form or email kara@chicagoplays.com by Thursday, March 28, 2024.

LOCT & Lazy Susan Industry Brunch


Join the League of Chicago Theatres, with Lazy Susan Theatre Co., on Sunday, April 14th at 1:30pm for an Industry brunch featuring mimosas, pastries, bagels & more! Customer Intervention and De-escalation Workshop


The League of Chicago Theatres is hosting a Virtual Customer Intervention and De-escalation Workshop on Thursday, June 27 from 4-5pm that is free for all members and business affiliates of the League. This workshop will be led by Long-Time Customer Service and De-escalation Expert, Myra Golden. Please RSVP and fill out the link to attend. The Divas are back and rockin' it for Season of Concern. This one-night-only benefit concert for Season of Concern features the outstanding talents of Chicago’s Leading Ladies, who have been seen, and celebrated, on professional stages throughout the Greater Chicagoland area and across the country. This performance will not only showcase your favorite Chicago Divas but will also welcome the younger generation of Divas to the stage. Whether you’re a fan of Broadway classics, pop hits, or soulful jazz, this concert has it all! The deadline to apply to volunteer for the Theatre Communications Group Conference has been extended to April 1, 2024. Volunteering at the TCG National Conference is a great way for students, independent theatre professionals and other supporters of not-for-profit theatre to join the conference and stay connected to the theatre field. The Illinois Arts Council (IAC) is offering scholarship funds of up to $1,500 to cover expenses related to attending the 2024 Leadership Exchange in Arts & Disability (LEAD) Conference in Seattle, WA and/or the Theatre Communications Group (TCG) 2024 National Conference in Chicago, IL. Scholarships can cover expenses related to registration, travel, and hotel. The LEAD Conference will be held July 31 – August 2, 2024 in Seattle, WA, and the TCG Conference will be held June 20-22, 2024 in Chicago, IL. Deadline for submitting IAC scholarship applications is Wednesday, March 27, 2024 by 11:59 PM in the online Salesforce grant portal. Applicants must be the individual applying for the scholarship, even if they are representing an organization.
