Community Forklift Needs A/C Units

A nonprofit that provides services to under-resourced communities and families experiencing homelessness referred a family who was living in an apartment with no air conditioning to Community Forklift. Community Forklift provided them with a free gently-used window A/C unit through their Home Essentials Program.

The MD/VA/DC area's hot and humid summers are right around the corner and Community Forklift has a waitlist of residents needing air conditioning! A window or in-room A/C unit can make a world of difference for seniors, people recovering from medical procedures, or those with asthma. Please donate unneeded A/C units at their reuse warehouse. Thank you!

Community Forklift is a nonprofit reuse center for home improvement supplies. They collect donations of new and gently used building materials and home essentials and make them available to the community at low cost. They also distribute free materials to nonprofits and neighbors in need, create good green jobs, and educate the public about reuse.

GADD Monthly Networking Breakfast (MEMBERS Only)

Date: Third Thursday of each month - Upcoming Dates: June 15, July 20

Location: Market House, 25 Market Space, Annapolis, MD 21401

Time: 7:30am - 8:30am

Cost: Free

Members are invited to an early morning networking hour the third Thursday of each month from 7:30-8:30a.m. at the Market House. Arrive a few minutes early to purchase a coffee and breakfast bite at Rise Up, located inside the Market House. Be ready at 7:30am to connect and collaborate.

Sub-Zero, Wolf and Cove Showroom Open House

Date: Saturday, June 3

Location: 9204 Beger Rd., Suite H., Columbia, MD 21046

Time: 11:00am-2:00pm

Cost: Free

Members and guests are invited to attend an Open House at the Sub-Zero, Wolf, and Cove Showroom on June 3rd from 11:00am-2:00pm.

Attendees will experience the following:

Sub-Zero, Wolf, and Cove products in a no-pressure environment
Product specialists to answer your questions
Chef-led demonstrations
Delicious tastings prepared by Chef Sean

What's Up? Media's Best of Party

Sip & Stroll Networking Happy Hour Recap

On April 27th, Members and guests enjoyed a Sip & Stroll Networking Happy Hour. Attendees first took an opportunity to see the beautiful showroom at RH and enter their raffle, and then strolled across the street to Neo Pizza & Taphouse for appetizers, libations and networking. Towards the end of the evening, RH announced the raffle winner of the crystal decorative accessory was Gwen Legg of Annapolis Interiors.

GADD Funds AACC Student Scholarship Fund

The Greater Annapolis Design District (GADD) has developed an Annual Scholarship Fund "The Scholarship for Skilled Trades & Design/Build Industry" with the Anne Arundel Community College Foundation.

Donations will help to reward AACC students who work diligently to further their education in the "built environment".

The Scholarship has an annual minimum requirement of $5,000. While some members have generously donated, the fund was over $4,000 short of meeting the minimum requirement. The Board of Directors voted to redirect funds to the scholarship to ensure students can be awarded the scholarship in the fall of 2023.

We encourage all of our Members to consider donating to this important endeavor. Future funds received will be used towards the 2024 school year.
