Detailed Info & Volunteering

VOLUNTEER OF THE YEAR

One of the main objectives of the Kings Road School PTO is to implement activities and educational programs that enrich the lives of our students. These activities and programs would not be possible without the PTO’s fundraising efforts throughout the school year. The tremendous fundraising efforts by our two nominees helped us achieve goals beyond what we could have imagined.

In recognition of these efforts, the KRS PTO Executive Board is happy to announce that Jessica Doninger and Samantha Lockery Then have been selected as the Volunteers of the Year for the 2022-2023 school year.

We as a PTO strive to create a strong partnership between children, parents, teachers and the community. Jessica and Sam embody this partnership. They organized and executed the wreath sale, trivia night, and gathered all donations for the adult social. Jessica was also an important field day committee member and has helped with 4th grade fundraising efforts. Sam, along with her husband Chris, have helped in the KRS garden and have helped beautify KRS’ grounds.

Jess and Sam are always willing to raise their hands when help is needed. Much of their volunteer work had been done behind the scenes but always with a smile. Highly organized, positive and energetic- we have enjoyed working closely with you both this year.

Thank you both for giving your all for the KRS community. We appreciate you!

LAST PTO MEETING OF THE SCHOOL YEAR

Please join us at Madison Wine and Tap Room on June 7th at 8pm for our final PTO meeting of the year. All are invited to attend! We hope you will join us in celebrating the end of the year as we honor our volunteers of the year, thank our graduating volunteers and welcome in our new PTO Board. Light appetizers will be served. Drinks will be available for purchase.

Please RSVP if you plan to attend. RSVP is not required but helpful to know for our planning purposes.

KRS MURAL DEDICATION

We hope you can join us! All KRS families are welcome. Let’s celebrate coming together as a school and a community of painters!

Please submit any and all receipts for PTO reimbursement ASAP.

KRS DIRECTORY

The KRS PTO has decided to collect information for a PTO directory for the 2023-2024 school year. The KRS PTO Directory is a helpful resource which includes student and family names and contact information. We want to get a head start and get as many current families as possible. In order to create our own directory, we need your HELP. We need your most up to date information to be included in the KRS PTO Directory.

Please respond via the Google Form link below if you wish to submit your family’s information. We can only include your information if you provide consent by filling out the form below. You only need to provide the information you would like to see in the directory. Please note that the directory is only available to families at KRS and we do not share your information.

Please note that you only need to fill out ONE form per family and you only need to fill out the form if you have a student returning to KRS next school year.

Volunteer Love

Thank you to Christina Notaro, Kelley Browning, and all of the parent volunteers who helped to make this year’s KRS carnival a success! Christina worked tirelessly to secure all vendors, ordered the food, and took charge of setting up for the carnival. Kelley headed the Sweet Treats Table to raise money for the current fourth grade class, and picked up the popular Rita’s ice that was much appreciated on such a hot, hot day!

Thank you to all of the parents who volunteered to check families in, run the dunk tanks, sell sweet treats, pour lemonade, plate pizza, set up, clean up and do all of the things necessary for the KRS students to enjoy the last PTO event of the school year. None of our PTO-funded events would be possible without the dedication of the KRS parent community. We thank you ALL for everything you do for the kids!

Thank you to the Fifth Grade Parent Committee for all of their hard work throughout the school year and especially for all end-of-the-year events! Thank you to Audra Stimola, Melissa Chaput, Mona Alawadhi, Sarah Brasfield, Tammy deFreitas, Erin Egan, Gina Flemming, Kate Hunzinger, Carman James, Jenna Jeffreys, Beryl Lin, Sarah May, Susan Mar, Heather Reddy, Mary Skinner, Amy Travis and Colleen Wendrychowicz. You’ve done a fabulous job ladies, and we will miss seeing your kiddos at KRS. Best of luck to them in middle school next year!

Thank you to everyone who showed up for coffee on Monday morning to discuss volunteer opportunities for the 2023-3024 school year. It was nice to see some new faces, and of course the familiar ones as well! Please keep your eyes peeled for plenty of chances to get involved with the PTO for next year. We would love to have you!
