(STUDENTS, POSTDOCS, RESIDENTS, FELLOWS)
March 13, 4:00pm; Parnassus, N-217
The Junior Scientist Seminar is a monthly seminar series and networking event exclusively for early-career researchers (pre-doctoral school). The ability to clearly explain or present your research in an interesting and engaging way is a highly valued and critical skill that requires practice. Another important skill to develop is the ability (and confidence) to ask insightful and meaningful questions when others are presenting their work. Our mission is to provide a career development and training opportunity for Junior Scientists to gain experience presenting scientific research in a supportive environment. Each month, 3–4 volunteers give a 10–12-minute presentation, followed by questions and a reception. The presentations can be on current research, research plans or a research paper of interest.

The UC Berkeley-UCSF Faculty Collaboration Program strives to reward innovative research approaches that take advantage of and promote the convergence of the biomedical, physical and engineering fields encouraging scientists to move into new fields and cross into other areas of convergence in order to realize the full potential for achieving transformative scientific breakthroughs.

To advance this fertile research area, the program facilitates innovation and faculty collaboration between UC Berkeley and UC San Francisco through a prestigious collaboration program. The program currently provides support for one scientist, ideally alternating from each of the two institutions, to collaborate with colleagues at the other institution each year.

Please visit the program website here to learn how to apply, review frequently asked questions, and understand eligibility and other program details.
