About the speaker:

Evaggelos G. Vallianatos, PhD studied zoology and history at the U. of Illinois and received his history doctorate at the U. of Wisconsin; did postdoctoral studies in the history of science at Harvard; worked on Capitol Hill and the US Environmental Protection Agency; taught at several universities; and is the author of hundreds of articles and seven books.

 

About the lectures:

 

Our philosophy is philosophy -- the love and pursuit of wisdom -- and we endeavor to make this philosophy available and accessible to all.

 

This lecture series aims to educate and entice through an exploration of the indelible accomplishments of humanity from antiquity through the present.

 

Accomplished experts from various fields will speak on a wide range of topics in the arts and sciences, from the epics of Homer to the Antikythera mechanism and beyond.
