Father's Day Issue

Strong Tower Radio's theme this month is Fatherhood. Our Today program interviewed the June Ministry News cover article author, Marty Miller, regarding his piece introducing the intentional Father. This interview reviews the article but addresses much more. Then in the final segment we cover Strong Tower Radio's presence at the Michigan camp meeting this Sunday at 5 p.m., Monday at 10 a.m., and Wed. at 12:01 a.m. on STR stations, STR apps, or STR.fm.

Mackinac Lilac Festival

Strong Tower Radio takes you on a virtual preview of the Mackinac Island Lilac Festival. This year marks the 75th Annual Mackinac Island Lilac Festival! It is the largest and most historic festival on Mackinac Island. It’s 10 days celebrating the lilacs and their uniqueness and history to Mackinac Island.

Our Tom Mejeur went to the island and took a walk with the designated lilac tour docent, visited the fort, and more for this interview. Broadcast Interruption

Attention Strong Tower Radio listeners: Our fiber internet connection that feeds programs to all our stations, phone apps, and web stream will be down for maintenance on Tuesday, June 6th for up to 45 minutes sometime between 12:00 am thru 6:00 am. As things are setup right now, there is not much that we can do to get us past this “bump in the road” since it is our program distribution path. We are sorry about this event, which is beyond our control.

Father's Day

Is Almost Here!

If we ever needed to support families, it is now! We need to applaud fathers AND mothers in their roles as parents.

What we praise and value we get more of!  Let’s praise and acknowledge fathers!!

Here in the Michigan Conference, Father's Day gets eclipsed by camp meeting. We are helping your church remember Father's Day before camp meeting!

To do it right we need to start right now by ordering supplies and showing the two father videos, the one-minute tribute after camp meeting on June 24th.

Strong Tower Radio and Blueprint for Men have produced tools to help churches celebrate Father’s Day with the following (found at StrongTowerRadio.org):

     Show, the one-minute church-friendly (that skips the ads) fathers tribute "Glad Your My Dad" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_v_TOLPyEig and the four-minute "Father Resources" on June 24th https://youtu.be/Dsa189hh_RA?t=2

     Post Father’s Day thoughts on your church’s web and social media sites inviting the public to a Father’s Day ceremony at your church

     Print and distribute (from the template) a fill-in-the-blank Father's Day card as a bulletin insert https://view.officeapps.live.com/op/view.aspx?src=https%3A%2F%2Ffiles.constantcontact.com%2F2c6adb5f601%2F6aa9f458-1d55-4e4c-90a0-dad99f0a047c.docx&wdOrigin=BROWSELINK

     Print and distribute the Strong Tower Radio Father's Day sticker that’s downloadable from our website. You can order blank stickers from an office supply store or online at SheetLabels.com for about $25. Download the "My kids love me" sticker and the "I love my dad" sticker.

     Order a gift for your church fathers. Benchmark your church's Father's Day gift to the expenditure for your church as it does for Mother's Day and order some delightful Father's Day gift. Hint: There are awesome value priced

imprintable gifts like keychain LED flashlights, luggage tags, or jackknives from Pen.com or negotiate a special price for car washes from a local car wash place and give the gift certificate template.

The world is quite hard on dads, making some of the best dads feel like they aren't doing a great job. Let's all do our part to encourage dads at our churches.😊

Father’s Day

Life presents many examples of fathers.  Let’s look to the wonderful, since we soon resemble what we behold.  One Biblical example recounts Jairus, a Capernaum church leader, whose sick daughter was near death.  Anxiety stirring within him, he rushed to town hoping to find Jesus, who had been away for several days.

Entering Capernaum, he saw Jesus, ran, and fell at His feet, urging Him to come and heal his daughter who would die without intervention.  Perhaps you can imagine the angst Jairus felt facing such loss.  Hope flooded his emotions as Jesus readily agreed to his plea. His hope was strengthened as a woman was healed from a long-term illness along the way, just from touching Jesus’ robe!

But his heart sank when friends coming from his home told Jairus that his daughter was dead and not to “trouble the Master anymore.”  Too late, Jairus thought, I’ve lost my little girl, yet Jesus' words interrupted his grief-stricken thoughts - “be not afraid, only believe.” [1] What an invitation!

Taking Jairus and three disciples with Him, Jesus continued to Jairus’ house where they found his daughter had indeed died.  Jesus then discreetly resurrected this young girl as her parents watched amazed.  “Be not afraid, only believe.”  Wow, words backed with power!

Fathers, are you seeking Jesus for your families, for yourselves?  As you seek, you find His power working in both you and your family’s lives.  STR programs strengthen families by pointing all to the most wonderful Father of all–our Heavenly Father.   Lives are being changed daily as listeners learn the real character of God.    Pray with us that God’s Spirit will work with greater power to change listeners' lives. Then as God impresses you, add your monthly financial support to your prayers.
