Senate Bill 7026 sets Florida back at a time when innovation, capabilities, trust, and relationships should continue to be the gauge as our firms compete for design contracts, not simply who is the cheapest.

Florida’s legislative session ended this month, which means it’s time to take a breath and reflect on the bills passed by the 2023 Florida House and Senate. There are several that are sure to impact each of our engineering practices.

Join the FES | ACEC Florida Joint Energy Committee Meeting on Wednesday, June 21, 2023, at 3:30 pm with guest speaker Kati Austgen, Senior Project Manager, New Reactors at the Nuclear Energy Institute.


Kati Austgen specializes in advocacy for all new reactor technologies, including large light-water reactors, small modular reactors, non-light-water reactors, and micro-reactors. Kati leads the NEI New Reactor Regulatory Working Group, which is focused on providing industry coordination and strategic guidance on key generic licensing and regulatory issues for new reactors.

Colliers Engineering & Design, a national multi-discipline engineering, architectural, design and consulting firm, is pleased to announce it has acquired Rogvoy Architects, PC of Southfield, Michigan. Rogvoy is a full-service architectural firm serving the state of Michigan and represents a fourth generation of company ownership and cornerstone of the City of Detroit’s architectural community.
