Message from the President: A Year of Growth


Summit Team,


We had an exceptional year in 2023, and I want to take the time to thank each of you. As a team, we accomplished strategic expansion, major project wins, significant office implementations, and many other important initiatives. Our success did not always come easy, and I am sure each of us has grown through these challenges. We all must continue our efforts to become champions of the Capacity Model by utilizing the Human Performance Principles, STKY, and the Energy Wheel. This ensures that we have capacity throughout our organization, so every Summit team member goes home safely. 


In my first two years at Summit, I have been consistently impressed by the agility and resilience we demonstrate during the execution of our projects and the operation of our company. Community Involvement

Summit County Early Intervention & Heber Valley Clothing and Toy Drives


Summit Line partnered with the Summit County Early Intervention program and Heber Valley Community Clothing and Toy Drive to allow our wonderful team to give back during the 2023 holiday season.


Beyond supporting families that are a part of the program and in need, the Summit County Early Intervention provides early identification and development services for families of infants and toddlers, from birth to three years of age. Thank you to everyone who contributed!​

Boone Brothers

Foundation​​


Summit Line Construction was a proud sponsor of the Boone Brothers Foundation youth football camp in November 2023. It was great to see so many of the local youth come out to have fun and learn how to be better football players.  


The mission of the Boone Brothers Foundation is to provide an enjoyable, educational, and affordable youth football camp. While also providing other educational activities with personal and professional instruction for all skill levels.

PacifiCorp Employees Memorial Scholarship Fund ​​


Summit Line was a proud sponsor of the 2023 PacifiCorp Employees Memorial Scholarship Fund Charity Dinner.


This event benefits and honors the service of fallen employees by providing family members with educational scholarships. If certain reserves are met, scholarship eligibility is broadened to include family members of all PacifiCorp employees.  

2023 PCCM Charity Drive for Checkmate & Bishop Projects​​


Summit Line Construction was given the opportunity to contribute to the children and animals of Reeves County, Texas via their annual PCCM Charity drive. Donations from Summit Line and many other contractors allowed for new toys and cat/dog food to be given to local families in need during the holiday season. 

Solid Rock Indian Nations Youth Outreach​​


Summit Line was proud to contribute to the Solid Rock Indian Nations Youth Outreach program to help make their youth conferences possible going into 2024.


This program helps young people go back to school as well as receive spiritual guidance and direction through the Indian Nation Substance Abuse Program. 

UNLV Rodeo Charity Golf Tournament​​


Summit Line was a proud sponsor of the 2024 UNLV Rodeo Golf Tournament. Funds raised benefited the UNLV golf program.


Thank you to those who organized the event, it was a great opportunity for members of our Las Vegas team to get out of the office and drive the green!

2024 Holiday Office Closures

As we begin the new year, we want to provide everyone with our holidays for this year.


We will be closing our offices on the following dates:

  • Monday, May 27th for Memorial Day
  • Thursday, July 4th for Independence Day
  • Monday, September 2nd for Labor Day
  • Thursday, November 28th for Thanksgiving Day
  • Friday, November 29th for the day after Thanksgiving
  • Tuesday, December 24th for Christmas Eve
  • Wednesday, December 25th for Christmas Day
  • Tuesday, December 31st for New Year's Eve


Remember to plan your work accordingly, coordinate with your teammates if needed, and set up those out-of-office notifications if you're going off the grid.

Quanta Elite: Kyle Seaweard

At the 2024 Safety & Leadership Conference, Quanta recognized Kyle Seaweard for his exceptional work ethic and outstanding performance by awarding him with the prestigious Quanta Elite title.


Kyle's remarkable leadership, management skills, extensive knowledge and experience, and prioritization of safety in the workplace set him apart from his peers. Congratulations Kyle, we appreciate your hard work!

Our Heber office team competed to see who had the most holiday spirit with a cubicle/office decoration contest. Thank you to all those who participated by filling the office with holiday cheer!

2024 Safety & Leadership Conference - January


Each year Summit Line's operational leadership comes together for two days to focus on our safety culture and share leadership messages.

This conference has been a huge part of our culture for many years, allowing us to start the year with a focus on safety and developing our leaders. Additionally, everyone was able to spend the evening socializing and playing games.


Thank you to those who attended, spoke, and worked to make the event possible! A big thank you to the Zermatt Resort (Midway, UT) for hosting us and helping to make the event a success.

Regional Employee Spotlights

Region 1 - Greater West

Brock Carlson

Project Manager


Brock joined the Summit Line project management group last year but has been with Quanta since 2015. He started as an inside electrical estimator intern and has spent time working as a project engineer and traveling administrator before stepping into a project manager role in 2018.


Brock has a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Utah State University, with a minor in math and marketing.


Brock was born and raised in Heber City, Utah, where he still lives with his family. He has a toddler who keeps him busy and entertained. In his spare time, he likes to hunt, ride horses, and go shooting. He also loves to attend different rodeos with his family every year as part of their bucket list. He is a fan of the Utah Jazz and the Denver Broncos.

Region 7 - Northern California

David Dyas

Project Manager


David is a highly dedicated project manager assisting with PG&E’s program in the Yosemite Region. He joined Summit Line in 2021 as an Assistant Project Manager. His dedication to the team effort is well known, always with a smile, laugh, and a kind word for his colleagues. David holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Montana State University.

 

Outside of work, David enjoys spending time with his wife of five years, Soersha, and their dog, Cooper. They like to travel and have visited Ireland, Great Britain, and Japan. Their future travel plans follow them all the way to Spain!

 

We are grateful for David and his steadfast partnership, mentorship, and wise guidance to the team. 

Region 9 - AZ, NM, & TX

Russell Barry

Construction Manager


Russell Barry is a Construction Manager in New Mexico. He is currently managing projects for Public Service Company of New Mexico (PNM) and El Paso Electric and has been with Summit for five years. During his time here, he has worked in New Mexico, Texas, Nevada, and California.


Russell has been integral to building a great working relationship with our customers and consistently brings in projects under budget and ahead of schedule while maintaining a good safety mindset and culture.


Him and his wife have two kids and they live in Western Colorado. They enjoy the outdoors, hunting, fishing, and four wheeling.

Region 12 - Major Projects

Shawn Scribner

Construction Manager – SunZia T-Line


Shawn Scribner started with Summit Line Construction in November of 2022 as the Construction Manager for the SunZia T-Line project. Shawn started his apprenticeship in 2006, journeying out in 2009. Before starting with Summit Line, he previously worked for Sturgeon Electric for ten years in their transmission department.

 

Outside of work, Shawn enjoys hunting and competing in Jiu Jitsu, so much so, that he competed in and won Nationals and went on to compete in Worlds. He also loves spending any time he can with his wife, Nicole, and his two sons and daughter.



Shawn brings valuable knowledge to Summit Line and is dedicated to self-improvement while being an integral part of the Summit Line Team.

Region 14 - Southern Nevada

Casey Green

Transmission General Foreman


Casey Green has over 20 years of experience in the power construction industry and is responsible for overseeing all transmission construction within Summit’s Southern Nevada region. He has a wide range of experience from small distribution jobs to 500kV overhead and 230kV underground transmission projects. Over the years of working in Southern Nevada, Casey has developed a deep knowledge of NV Energy’s, Valley Electric Association’s, and Boulder City’s transmission systems. Casey is known as the hardest working man in the region because of his tireless efforts to lead by example and hold his crews accountable to his high standards.

 

Him and his wife have two girls and a boy who are all native to the southwest. They are a family of cowboys and cowgirls who enjoy roping and rodeoing. Casey also enjoys hunting and recently returned from a two-week elk hunt in Colorado. 

Region 15 - Northern Nevada

Micah Kennedy

Safety Manager


Micah started with PAR in 2012 and has been a safety professional for over 30 years. He has experience as a construction safety professional, wildland firefighter, mine rescue high angle rope rescue team member (Medic), and intermediate EMT. Furthermore, he gained expertise as an ambulance crew member while serving with the ILS volunteer fire service in rural Nevada. During this time, he cultivated skills in handling heavy fires, providing trauma care, and conducting rescues.


Micah is originally from Carson City, Nevada. In his spare time, he loves to ride dirt bikes, race, and mentor and train riders. He also loves to provide road race support on all Northern Nevada desert races, Vegas to Reno races, and the Baja 1000. Additionally, he enjoys playing rock music with our old washed-up band, fishing, hunting, and winter sports.


Micah is the proud father of two amazing daughters. Both are in college, one is a sergeant in the Air Guard, and the younger daughter is heading out for her first Wild Land Season.

Photo Contest - Winners Announced!

We have received a fantastic response with over 930 total entries submitted during the 2023 photo contest.


All 14 of our monthly winners were displayed on printed canvas at the 2024 Annual Safety & Leadership Conference. Two winners were selected live by all those in attendance.


Congratulations to Clayton Hickenbotham (Project Category) and Adam Hardy (Culture Category) on taking home our two grand prizes, Traeger Ironwood 885 pellet smokers!
