MONTHLY NEWSLETTER

June is Pride Month-- a time to celebrate LGBTQ+ communities, promote queer joy, and fight for rights that are under attack. Pride Month commemorates the 1969 Stonewall Uprising in New York, which began on June 28, 1969, when police raided the Stonewall Inn, a prominent gay bar in Manhattan’s Greenwich Village. The subsequent protests over the next six days are credited with a shift in LGBTQ+ activism in the U.S. | |

FREE Responsible Beverage
Server and Seller Training
| |
Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) training was created by the Maine CDC to give the workers who make decisions about IDs, age, sobriety, and their worksite safety (on top of a host of other responsibilities on their shoulders) the best skills and information possible to protect their customers, their staff, and their community.
Servers and sellers play an important role in reducing the effects of overconsumption and underage access to alcohol. Public health data shows that retailers and restaurant servers impact the preservation of local safety. When you and your team are trained in the responsible methods for serving alcohol for safe consumption, your neighbors, families, and community all benefit and experience increased safety and well‐being. RBS training helps you to keep your work environment low-stress and thriving. On top of that, being trained in RBS can help individuals and their establishments to avoid fines and lawsuits.
Registration below. For more information, contact Alissa Wigglesworth at awigglesworth@une.edu.

ENROLL NOW IN HEAD START,
PRE-K & KINDERGARTEN PROGRAMS
| |
Research confirms that a strong start is critical for a child’s long-term success. When children enter Kindergarten ‘school ready,’ they are more likely to read at grade level by the end of third grade and graduate from high school on time. This impact continues into adulthood, affecting independence, employment, and so much more.
Biddeford Ready! is a community-wide effort comprised of dozens of partners representing all sectors of the Biddeford community.
