Dear FBCR family and friends,

I want to say a huge thank you for the amount of love and support you showed at my fundraiser lunch last month. It was so wonderful to see how many people came to eat and fellowship. Thank you all for your incredible generosity. $2,387 was raised for the trip. This will go a long way to covering the total costs needed, and I couldn’t be more grateful.

CHECK OUT WHAT'S HAPPENING:

• Sunday is the deadline for ordering an Easter lily! If you would like to place an Easter lily in memory or in honor of someone, please fill out the form located in the vestibules and return it to the church office along with a payment of $18.00/plant. The lilies will be displayed on Easter Sunday with a list of names published in the order of worship.

• Welcome Table Dates: We are responsible for Welcome Table on two Mondays in April -- but please notice the dates -- April 8 and April 29. These are NOT consecutive Mondays like usual. We can always use desserts (individually wrapped) and volunteers. Questions? Contact Nell Bovender, 828-429-9129.

• FBCR now has an Instagram account as well as our Facebook page. If you're on Instagram, give us a follow! Our handle is: fbcrutherfordton

• We now have a notary on staff! Tina Bean, our church administrator, just completed notary training and is available to notarize forms you may have. Simply reach out to her by email or by calling the church office to schedule a time to stop by.

• If you'd like to receive prayer request updates throughout the week, in addition to the prayer list found in the weekly newsletter, request to be added to our new prayer distribution email list! Just click here and add your name and preferred email address. You can also join by calling or emailing the church office.

• Midwives of a Movement, a documentary film chronicling the stories of the women who boldly birthed a movement to seek greater visibility and opportunities for women in the Southern Baptist Convention (SBC) 40 years ago, is being shown at First Baptist Church of Asheville on Sunday, April 14 at 4:00 p.m. (note the time change). If you'd like to attend the screening and carpool (and grab dinner in Asheville afterwards), reach out to Aimee.



• More volunteers are needed to assist in the preschool room on Sundays during worship. Volunteers are background checked and trained. You are generally scheduled to volunteer one time every 8 weeks. No experience needed, just a kind heart for children. Contact Donna if you would like more information.

• ILLUMINATE, our youth group gathering, meet every Sunday at 4:00 p.m. in the youth basement. Each week they share a meal (provided by families from our church), an ice breaker or game, and then enter into a time of conversation around the original context of the passages for the week.
