The Role of the Press in Setting Narratives in Financial Markets
This workshop will explore the role of the financial press as an information intermediary between corporations and investors. It will highlight how the financial press improves market liquidity by leading to a better-informed investor base. It will also provide insight into how slanted media coverage potentially distorts investors’ perceptions of financial events. Finally, it will provide an overview of how media coverage surrounding negative corporate events can influence non-market outcomes such as litigation risk.

MONTHLY MEETINGS
Monthly Meetings have concluded for 2022-23 and will resume in September 2023 for FY24. In the meantime, FEI Dallas has many events scheduled over the spring and summer months for education, socializing, and keeping your FEI network vibrant.
Monthly meetings are held at Northwood Club in North Dallas unless otherwise noted. Meetings include a Professional Development Session followed by a Networking Social and Dinner Meeting with the Keynote presentation. Up to 2.5 CPE credits may be earned at each meeting. Although the chapter schedules meetings year-round, there are no monthly meetings in December or from May-August when other special events are scheduled.

Reading Body Language for Success in Business 2.0
Kendall Helfenbein will give a brief introduction about why humans use body language and facial expressions more than words. Several example of body language will be shown in business settings to help understand their meaning. A listing of positive and negative body language signals during a job interview will be handed out for your reference.
